Lovely place to visit with the children near St Andrews. Great play are, trampolines, mini golf,a small ride-on train, boating lake, fantastic gardens and lovely café. Lots of open green space and interesting areas to explore. You can easily spend most of the day here if the weather is nice.

There's loads to do at Craigtoun. A beautiful country park set in once formal landscape gardens, there is plenty of space to have a large family picnic, to play ball games, or just to go for a wander with the dog.

If you want a more active day then you can have a go on the various rides and attractions: Puffin Billy - a tractor ride around the park; the Rio Grande mini train, the pedal or rowing boats; crazy golf or putting or the bouncy castle. Prices are incredibly reasonable and you can either buy an annual season ticket or a wristband that gives you access to all the rides as many times as you want in your day. Or you could buy a single ride ticket if you only want to have a go on one or two things.

There's a cafe with a fabulous ice cream van and on busy days a popcorn stand outdoors.

The staff are lovely. Friendly and fun and make sure that your party will enjoy their time in the park.

A thoroughly recommended family day out.

I went to Craigtoun with my kids today. I expected the boats, the adventure playground, the crazy golf, the train, the putting green. None of that was available. Everything was fenced off. We didn't spend long there. On the plus side, it was free. I understand the need for maintenance, but if it is to be done all at once, why not communicate this with the customers before they enter the park? I heard many potentially paying customers quietly grumbling that it wasn't what they expected. I will return in the Summer, but only if I can be reassured that the kids can use the flying fox, the train, the boats, the crazy golf, the cafe, the putting green etc.

Craigtoun Country Park is a hidden gem in St Andrews and can compete with the beaches and the golf! The cost of the trains - mini-rail and tractor (old Fergie) and the boats is very reasonable if a family or day ticket is bought especially when the kids can't be kept from having 3 journeys on the narow-gauge railway! Then you have crazy golf, trampolines and a great play area with chutes, one of them quite scary! The new area with zip slide is brilliant and the younger kids will love the fairy glen. The cafe is basic but serves good standard fare and the staff are lovely and helpful.
Take a picnic, take your tent, take granny and grandpa and all the bairns - go for it you won't regret it! Oh and mind the sunscreen!

lovely park to explore both on foot or by train or tractor trailer, which is great fun. You can buy a pass which gives unlimited use of rowing boats , pedalos, trampolines , crazy golf and the already mentioned train and trailer.great fun for all age groups . It was a lovely day at Easter when we visited which meant that things started to get quite busy and you had to queue so I would advise arriving early.
