Not many people tend to visit the Gardens since their location is not so obvious in the outlay of the town, however, it is just marvellous to stroll through them, so definetely go!

“Not to be missed”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

This is a splendid attraction off the normal St.Andrew's tourist run but with a wealth of interesting plants and hot houses. The gardens are well laid out across different levels and the guided tour we took was relaxed and informative, helping to point out some remarkable trees that we might easily have simply walked past. A pleasant afternoon for both experts and novices.

“Excellent resource for gardeners!”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

We had family visiting from Aberdeenshire and took them for an afternoon visit to the Botanic Gardens. We were very impressed with the range of plants on show, all with their names carefully displayed. We particularly liked the fact that the gardens occupy a sloping site as this afforded the opportunity to lay out a stream feeding a series of ponds and also excellent displays of alpine plants on the sloping ground.

The staff we met were very friendly and knowledgeable. Conducted tours of the extensive grounds are available if desired.

The entry fee is only £2 and we much enjoyed our visit. We will need to return soon to see the parts we missed!

Hi Harry,
I am really sorry that you didn't enjoy your trip to the garden last year. We have over 4000 children visit with their school and most have a wonderful time. This year we have new activities in the garden for school visitors and people who come with their families. It sounds like you come with school every year so I would really like it if you could let me know if we have improved after your next trip, and what ideas you might have to make it more enjoyable. Thanks for taking the time to write a review for us.
