“Worth a quick stop”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 November 2013 via mobile

If you are walking by I would def stop in. It is small but worth 30 minutes to look around. Check the times though as it isn't always open in winter.

I really enjoyed the history of St. Andrews especially the traditions of the 'families' and foam party. My cousin just started there so it was great to read up on the traditions when hearing her stories.

There is also a viewing deck on the top which is worth a look.

Thanks for the review of MUSA Katie. We're glad you enjoyed learning about the many traditions at the University of St Andrews. Our winter opening hours are from 1st November-31st March when we are open Thursday-Sunday 12-4pm.

At the moment we have extended our summer opening hours to give more people a chance to see our temporary Medieval Maces exhibition! So until 8th December the museum is open 10-5 Monday-Saturday, and 12-4 on Sundays.

“An absolute must for visitors to St Andrews”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

If visiting the town of St Andrews this museum is one of the things that everyone should go and see, especially when it is free to enter.

Not too large, but thoroughly interesting - giving a real understanding of the history of the town, and great for all age-groups.

Also, has what must be the best viewing deck to look out across the golf courses, beach and bay.

“A quick tour”

If you have a student at St. Andrews this is definitely a must. It's informative, well presented, but that's it then.

“Small but Interesting museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 October 2013

While we were there they had a special display of maces. It was an interesting display of local and some international ceremonial maces. The rest of the museum provides a history of St Andrews and exhibits on former students and their accomplishments. It doesn't take long to see it all and it is worth the time.

Thanks for taking the time to post a review of MUSA - it's great to hear that you enjoyed your visit! Our temporary exhibition on Medieval Maces runs to the 8th of December, and features ceremonial maces from universities all over Europe, as well as the three beautiful maces from the University of St Andrews which are on display in MUSA all year round.

“Best part of St.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 September 2013

Took some visitors from America to St.Andrews to visit the Old Course, see the Castle and the Cathedral, but the best part of the visit was the museum of St. Andrews University.
It's easy to miss it as it's out of the way, but simply walk along The Scores and you come to it.
The building is superb and the staff make everyone welcome and it provides the best history of 'the Old grey Toun.' Only thing missing is a little cafe upstairs opening on to the terrace!
