The museum has four galleries, a 'Learning Loft' and a viewing terrace with stunning panoramic views over St Andrews Bay. This is a very well done exhibition . One gets the sense of history as well as information about the great programs offered and sense of history of the institution.

It is a small museum. Pretty interesting for some displays. It is a museum for you to understand about St Andrews university; it's history, societies, inventions etc. But there is a pretty nice view from the top of the museum. Worth to drop by for awhile.

I visited this museum and I was extremley disappointed. The ladies at reception were not welcoming and no interaction was interpreted . I gathered a little bit of info on the University but was quite bored with the museum in general . But the balcony was one of the best viewing spots we encountered on our trip as the telescope was wonderful and some great photos were taken also it was a wonderful feeling to feel that sea air in your face !

Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that you found the museum boring: visitors often tell us that they find the history of the University extremely interesting. People also usually enjoy MUSA’s interactive displays such as the archery game and the kaleidoscopes. Our Front of House staff are more than happy to receive any feedback in person, and we endeavour to ensure every visitor’s experience is enjoyable. It is therefore regrettable that this feedback is given 6 months after the visit.

Thanks very much for your review. Unfortunately you may have confused us with the St Andrews Museum, which is located in Kinburn Castle. MUSA is located on The Scores and explores the history of the University and Town from the medieval period to the present. MUSA does not have a coffee shop but we do have a fantastic viewing terrace overlooking St Andrews Bay and a lovely museum shop.

If you are walking by I would def stop in. It is small but worth 30 minutes to look around. Check the times though as it isn't always open in winter.

I really enjoyed the history of St. Andrews especially the traditions of the 'families' and foam party. My cousin just started there so it was great to read up on the traditions when hearing her stories.

There is also a viewing deck on the top which is worth a look.

Thanks for the review of MUSA Katie. We're glad you enjoyed learning about the many traditions at the University of St Andrews. Our winter opening hours are from 1st November-31st March when we are open Thursday-Sunday 12-4pm.

At the moment we have extended our summer opening hours to give more people a chance to see our temporary Medieval Maces exhibition! So until 8th December the museum is open 10-5 Monday-Saturday, and 12-4 on Sundays.
