Ideal location and great service. Clean rooms great breakfast fantastic value. Bathroom could be upgraded but thats a very minor thing. Certainly would not put me off coming back. Very helpful staff and a 2 minute walk from the town centre. 1 minute from the beach and 10minutes from the old course

We have just spent two days at the Bell Craig and had a lovely time. The house is easy to locate and very handy for the seafront/ shops, restaurants and bars of St. Andrews. The room was spacious, very clean, well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was served in a light and airy room and was of a good standard. Just one wee point - please provide an extention cord for the kettle as we had to place the kettle on the floor to boil it.

Room Tip: Remember to close the window at night as the seagulls are extremely noisy!!!!!!!

My husband and I visited St. Andrews with our son for an open day at the university and we stayed for just one night. From the moment I talked to Hazel on the phone to book, I was sure that we had found the right place.
When we arrived we got a very warm welcome despite the fact that we were early. Our room was spotlessly clean, lovely light, big and quiet with everything we could ask for. The beds were very comfortable and breakfast perfect.
We can definitely recommend this lovely B&B to anyone and we will be staying here when we come back to St. Andrews.

Spent two weeks here and, as always, loved it. Have been staying here for over 20 years and give it my highest recommendation. Hazel is wonderful. Room and breakfast are outstanding. Looking forward to this summer's trip.

The room we had was clean and comfortable, but the 'en suite' was a tight compartment , less than 3 feet wide with toilet and shower, the hand basin in the bedroom. Breakfast was good. At £90 it was a bit overpriced, although it was the University arrival weekend. In contrast we had a wonderful room in Leuchars, about 6 miles away, definately worth the drive, and cheaper.

This B&B is wonderful! We lucked upon it when travelling to Scotland so my husband could try to play St. Andrews. Lucky for us there were cancellations so were able to spend 3 wonderful nights there (80 GBP per night for 2). We had Room 1, it was comfortable, well decorated with flatscreen TV (with Cable), relatively quiet on the back, very clean. The bath was large and modern. Free Internet, too. Hazel was warm and friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was a full Scottish breakfast (we skipped the blood pudding, though). Location is fabulous...husband walked to the Old Course starter at 5 AM to get on the list (he got to play the first time). I walked the town, including St. Andrews University property and St. Andrews ruins (cathedral and castle) and shopping district. You can see the water only a block away, too! Lovely pub/restaurant at the end of the block on the water recommended by Hazel for dinner (they stop serving at 9 on weeknights, though) Unfortunately, no credit cards, but we found a cash machine so all was good. We will definitely go back to St. Andrews and Bell Craig House!

Room Tip: Room 1 a good choice for a double.

Just back from the Bell Craig B&B. Hazel is the perfect host. Really I don't know how she does it all and still keep smiling=, have time for an unhurried chat, change/make up beds and all the rest. Bell Craig is situated in the centre of town and within minutes of everything. A bit niosy though from those pesky seagulls and those travelling back to their beds late at night but other than that we will definitely be back. Hazel's breakfasts are wow value... plenty to choose from, freshly prepared and wholesome.....

Our only wee problem was our room was on the top floor and the water pressure in the taps was poor. Oh the shower was great, no problem there but trying to wash your hands was a 5 minute job. Mind you who can complain, taking into account of the age of the building and plumbing it was manageable. The bed was fabulously comfortable and just what the weary traveller needs after a days tramping through the town and visiting the famous golf course. Hazel's wee place is a find... go try it!
