Upon arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome from the doormen and a glass of fizzy (a lovely touch) at check in we were told we had been upgraded and boy were we upgraded....a beautiful suite with a fabulous view of the course and the beach....the room was absolute luxury and we were thrilled. Beautiful touches in the room, lovely toiletries, huge bathroom and even a wee kitchenette.....went down to the Jigger Inn (the pub attached to the hotel) for a few drinks after a lovely bracing walk on the beach....had the best nights sleep in our massive comfy bed. The next morning we visited the spa which was amazing, the pool, steam room, Jacuzzi on the roof all fabulous and again lovely wee touches such fresh lemon water and complimentary tea, coffee and newspapers. Every single member of staff we experienced gave us exceptional customer service and the whole week-end was amazing. It was such a lovely luxurious break and one we won't forget, would totally recommend to anyone that wants to get away from it all...thank to everyone....xxxxx

Spent the evening here on 11/01/14 for my boyfriends Christmas/ New Years party.

When pulling up outside the hotel it takes your breath away, is such a beautiful and picturesque building. The doorman welcomed us into the hotel and we made our way to the function room. ( I don't know the name of the room, but it was a long way down some corridors, had lovely huger red lampshades hanging from the ceiling! )

We were welcomed with a champagne reception, all the staff were really friendly and smily. The tables were set lovely, from the white chair covers with red sashes, shiny silver cutlery, and spotless glasses!

Food tasted amazing; for starter I had pate with brioche, main course was tortellini filled with goats cheese and dessert was a honeycomb and whiskey set cream. Everything was delicious! The service of this food was also top class, it was done soo professionally and made the meal seem extra special.

All in all it was a fabulous night, I would definitely return and would love to stay there.

We had the pleasure of staying for 2 nights, this is definitely a 5 star hotel !The staff were extremely helpful and the facilities wonderful. Especially the rooftop Jacuzzi !! Relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel. Breakfast in the Road Hole Restaurant was wonderful and looking over the Old Course enhanced the experience. Dinner at Sands Grill was delightful. We hope to come back in the future.

Had a night away from the kids, dogs and work at the Old Course Hotel. We've been before and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were not disappointed, the spa treatment was divine, the first time I've actually fallen asleep. The roof top jacuzzi was deserted as normal so we got it to ourselves. The room was nice and the bed comfortable. We enjoyed lazing about, reading our books and relaxing. Went into St Andrews for lunch and dinner which is great, we normally go to Gleneagles, which is fabulous also, but with the old course it is great to be able to wander rather than just use the hotel facilities. The breakfast was good in the morning, and since we've last visited they have moved breakfasts from the sands restaurant on the ground floor to the road hole restaurant on the top floor. This is so much better, the view is amazing over the golf course onto the beach. My husband very much enjoyed looking jealously at the golfers whilst eating, and reminiscing about his great round where her birdied the 18th. Can't wait to return. Perfect relaxation.

We decided to try the afternoon tea which runs from 14.00-16.00 daily. We were shown to our table on level 4 (road hole restaurant location) with its fantastic view across the bay.The various selections tea on offer was perfect or you can also try the coffee. The sandwiches made to our specification using home made bread followed by a fantastic selection of small cakes and scones made in house was wonderful.Even if your not staying in the hotel and you are visiting St Andrews this location should be added to your Bucket list.Forgot to mention the extremely friendly and attentive staff.I will visit again.

We visited for a drink in the upstairs bar for curiosity due to the excellent reviews. The hotel does not look good from the outside, however, the interior makes up for it. Beautifully decorated with period features and attention to details. Very attentive staff, prices you would expect to pay for a top end hotel, £4 for earl grey tea and £4 for a beer but these came with bar nibbles and shortbread. Views were lovely over the sea and course, would go again.
