St Andrews is one of my favourite places and we have had many family breaks in the area. We have passed this hotel many times and thought it would be a bit too up market and out of our league! How wrong could I be! I have just had the pleasure of staying here to celebrate my sisters 50th birthday. We had a fab girly package which included, B&B, dinner, cocktail making and use of the excellent spa facilities.
From the outside the building is very large and imposing and unusal looking almost art decco in style. Inside the reception is quite grand but warm and comfortable with lots of lovely floral decorations throughout. The porters are jolly and helpful and the reception staff efficient and friendly. We could help ourselves to a glass of prosecco which was a nice touch and the receptionist showed us to our rooms, which was very welcoming.
We were all pleased with our rooms, plush and clean, spacious but cosy. Lovely bathrooms with quality Scottish products, white fluffy towels and robes. Beds very comfy.
We were very impressed with the spa facilities, especially the roof top hot tub in the winter sun.
Cocktail making was fun, special mention to John the barman, who was friendly and very knowledgable. He made us some very tasty classy cocktails.
Food at dinner was of excellent quality and presentation with plenty to choose from, again staff efficient and friendly.
We managed to squeeze in another trip to the spa, before breakfast, when it was nice and quiet.
Breakfast was a wonderful experiance, lovely decorated large room with amazing views over the coast and the famous golf course. Staff very wecloming, although busy nothing was too much trouble.
Plenty of quality items to choose from the buffet and even additional cooked items to choose from a menu! We simply had to try the pancakes and maple syrup, which were divine!
The hotel whilst being 5 star has a lovely relaxed and comfortable feel about it.
We all had a fantastic experience and also enjoyed a walk around the quaint pretty wee town.

We had a great 2 night stay for my Birthday. The staff were great before and during the trip.

As requested we were given a fantastic view of the course. We chose the breakfast option and that too was excellent.

The only thing that let the hotel down was joining 2 single beds together instead of a double. Not really 5 star.

Everything else was superb.

Room Tip: Room 328 cannot be beaten if you're a golf fan.

It was a fair drive from Manchester bug from the moment we pulled into the car park we were taken care of. Our checkin was smooth and swift with a welcome glass of bubbles. The room was spacious with a great view of the course. The bathroom was spacious with quality toiletries. We stayed two nights and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very attentive without being obtrusive. Would return without hesitation

Booked through an itison deal! Great deal and lovely hotel. Friendly staff and facilities. Only criticism would be breakfast options for the buffet weren't that great. Would advise ordering from the menu!
Thermal spa is lovely and great cocktails in the bar on forth floor!
Would highly recommend

We stayed here with friends on a golfing trip. Checked in on a Sunday after a hard graft round a very wet and windy golf course nearby and were welcomed on check in with a nice glass of prosecco! What a nice start. We relaxed in the spa for the rest of the afternoon and this was fantastic - what a place! Simply stunning! We had dinner in the Jigger In and the food and service were 1st class. Our evening was rounded off with a few drinks in the bar and what a setting this is, even for the non golfers! Breakfast was had early doors and again the welcome and food were lovely. The food set us up for our big day on the Old Course! If there's a way to have a golfing weekend then this is it! Can't wait to return!
