“Top drawer weekend”
Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

Spent a golfing weekend with friends at the OCH. Rooms very comfortable, and king size bed enormous. Bathroom shower selection and bath very unusual and refreshing. Breakfast had everything you might want, catering for every taste and especially my liking for soft poached eggs with smoked salmon. Fantastic! And by the way the proximity to a selection of golf courses and of course views over the Old Course itself!

I stayed here with my daughter as we were visiting my son who is a student at the University. At check we were given a glass of champagne, a very nice touch. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the Golf course, a spectacular view. The room was spacious, and luxurious.
We made use of the spa ,would recommend this. The staff were all friendly and helpful, nothing too much of a bother. We had breakfast in the restaurant and were lucky to get a table by the window , breakfast was excellent and staff again helpful but not intrusive.
I hope to return soon.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the old course

Stayed for one night last weekend. Very impressed with every aspect of the hotel. The staff are extremely polite. Spa and pool lovely. We ate in the Sands restaurant and once again had no complaints. The best part though is the breakfast, absolutely brilliant. Ate nothing else for the rest of the day. Definitely recommended.

Staying here was a surprise birthday present and we had a very special stay for two nights. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly, from the reception desk, to the spa, to the restaurant. We checked-in and were offered a glass of champagne which I thought was a really nice touch.

We had a room overlooking the sea and the Old Course which was spectacular. Our room was very big, clean and cosy with a comfortable bed. The furnishings were beautiful and you instantly felt at home. The complimentary toiletries were lovely and I liked how they were Scottish sourced instead of generic.

We ate in the restaurant on the first night and both had the six course tasting menu. I'm vegetarian and they did have a separate vegetarian tasting menu which I felt had as much effort put into it as the original one (something that can be rare in restaurants!). The staff here were very accommodating and couldn't do enough to attend to us during the meal. Later that evening my boyfriend (now fiancee!) proposed and the staff had made an effort with arranging everything for us to make it really special.

We went to the spa on both days and I had a treatment which was lovely. We had the pool and thermal spa room pretty much to ourselves which was an added bonus!

Breakfast each morning was one of the best I've had. There was unlimited fruit, pastries, bread, cereals, hot food, and you could also order from the a la carte menu. Each morning we were lucky enough to have a table at the window overlooking the course which I would definitely recommend as you just can't get enough of the views!

Overall we had a fantastic stay at this hotel and I already cannot wait to return. It was an absolute treat and we will both remember our stay here as everything was perfect.

Room Tip: A room overlooking the Old Course is worth it for the views!

On a week long trip to St Andrews, our family annual Easter retreat, my wife and I visited the world famous old course for a Spring Spa Experience. Not to disappoint the day was worth every penny. Access to all facilities, lunch and 50 min massage was just what was required. Would highly recommend and will definitely return to this resort.

Room Tip: Go to the spa! Rooftop jacuzzi, pretty pleasant.

Went with my son to look around the university. The concierge was very welcoming as was the young lady on reception. We arrived early so left our bags and went to the recommended Hams Hame for lunch which is owned by the hotel but a short walk along the golf course away. When our room was ready reception gave us a call so we returned to check in.
Our room was lovely, clean and spacious. We went to the spa for a swim and went in the rooftop jacuzzi. The spa facilities are amazing.
Had a drink in the bar overlooking the 17th. What an experience, especially for my son, a 17 year old golfer.
Good night's sleep followed by one of the best breakfasts I have ever had.
Will definitely return to this lovely hotel. Thanks to all staff who made our stay memorable.
Great fun on the Himalayas putting course too!

Stayed here for 1 night with a friend. Arrived at approximately 1330 hours and check in was fast and very efficient. All staff we came into contact with were friendly and couldn't do enough to help. We were allocated a room on the second floor overlooking the car park. We were given a glass of bubbly on arrival which was a nice touch. The surroundings in the hotel were lovely. Really enjoyed our one night stay here and we would hope to stay again if the price was right.
