The Duvegan is the place to stay in St. Andrews. Jack & Sheena arranged all our tee times and transportation before we arrived in Scotland. All we had to do was show up & play.

The hotel is close to the Old Course. It's a short walk to town if you want to do any shopping. Golf shops are on every corner.

The wait staff at the hotel was very friendly and attentive - the pub at the hotel was packed every night. The appetizers in the pub were excellent & the restaurant was just as good.

If you're looking for a hassle free golfing vacation - this is the place.

Second time I have stayed at the Dunvegan. If you are travelling to St. Andrews for a spa, you obviously don't want to be here. If you are in St. Andrews to golf, not a better place to stay. Location is great and the food is top drawer -- the pub on the main floor is lively.

If you traveled to St Andrews for the very first time in your lives (like us), or if you get there often, there can be only one place to stay........THE DUNVEGAN. Period.
From the comfortable atmosphere, to the 9-iron location to the most famous golf course in the world, to the the most popular bar in town, to the great food, to the unbeliveable hosts Jack & Sheen, to the best staff you'd ever want (Hi Lucy,Linda,Hanna,Linda,Mike,Lizzy, etal !!), to the great rooms........the Dunvegan made our trip the most memorable trip possible !!
Not only should you stay there if you ever get to St Andrews, you'd be making a large mistake if you didn't !!!
The "Boys from Connecticut" miss it already.

To say that Sheena and her staff went above and beyond all reasonable expectations would be a huge understatement. From the second our group of 8 arrived we were welcomed like family. The entire stay was a delight. The rooms were clean and comfortable (ask for Room #1). Great WiFi connection (it is fast & free). The pub/restaurant is outstanding , great pubfare (try the Dunvegan steak), great service (Dr. Linda, in particular, was super!)

This was my third trip to St. Andrews, I have stayed at Old Course Hotel and Rusacks. While those can offer views of the Old Course from your room, the experience at Dunvegan (which is only a block away from OC) is much less pretentious, much more informal, and just perfect for the after-golf pint and dinner. It can get a little crowded in the pub area, but that just exemplifies the popularity not only from guests, but from visitors and locals as well.

I had always thought the Pine Crest Inn in Pinehurst, NC was the best small hotel for golfers I had ever visited, but Sheena and the Dunvegan exceeding that experience 10 fold.

This hotel is based around golf, the owners golf, and the hotel is decorated to reflect just what you go to St Andrews to do play golf. The staff is very friendly, very good rooms, very clean and comfortable. Pub offres great food and drink, the hotel restaurant offers a nice menu and the food is prepared very well. Service is above all very good. If you are going to Scotland to play golf and stay in St Andrews, this is the place.
