“We'll be back soon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Whins Cottage is a lovely, contemporary property in a fabulous location. We are a family with a six year old and a four year old. We needed to bring a blow up bed for our youngest, but that was not any real problem. The living area is pleasant, the kitchen / dining area ideal and shower rooms so nice I want to replicate them at our own home. All in all Whins Cottage is a great place to stay to explore beautiful St Andrews.

“Perfection!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

I know St Andrews well and had little hesitation in making a booking at the Whins. The property is based just off North Street in an extremely quiet location yet close to the shops and West Sands. This modern property proved to be a delightful gem. Every room was spotless with a plethora of cleaning materials should you need them. Toilet roll, handwash, shower gel, washing up liquid - what a difference it makes when you don't have to rush off to the nearest supermarket before you can begin your holiday! The living room with its large glass wall naturally expands the living space outdoors. In the morning, I sat with a cup of tea and watched the birds feeding at the birdfeeder. The kitchen was well equipped; the beds were very comfortable with ensuite wetrooms. Sheila, the owner was most welcoming and showed me round the property upon my arrival. I highly recommend this property and you may rest assured I will be coming back to the Whins.

“The perfect place to stay.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

Tucked away in the heart of St Andrews, Whins Cottage is simply perfect. The welcome, the decor, the comfort, the cleanliness, the styling and the space were all faultless. Ian and Sheila have put so much into creating an exceptional place to stay, we just hope it is not fully booked next time we visit this remarkable town. Thank you both so much.

“Fantastic 5 star holiday home in great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay in The Whins & will definitely stay there again. The cottage is bright, airy & spacious and has been done to a very high standard and has everything you could ever need.....a real home from home in a great central location with the beach, golf, bars, restaurants & shops on your doorstep yet it's so peaceful with a lovely private back garden. The owners Sheila and Ian are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble & they give real 5* service Can't wait to return

“A real home away from home”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We can't recommend this place highly enough. It's furnished to a very high specification, it's homely and very welcoming for golfers, older travellers or a young family like ours. There's a beautiful enclosed wee garden in a quiet area and it's within easy walking distance of everything from the golf range and the Old Course to the 4 beaches, the university, the castle and cathedral ruins, some brilliant restaurants and the centre of town. We highly recommend the local bottle shop, Luvians, for some wonderful craft beer, Janetta's for the best ice cream in Scotland and the Himalayas putting green for fun for all the family.

“Perfect sanctuary in the heart of St Andrews”

We stayed here for a week with our son and the property gave us everything we could wish for. The location is perfect for exploring St Andrews on foot as everything is in such easy walking distance - restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. And best of all, the 1st tee of the Old Course is only a 7-iron away from the back garden ! Ian and Sheila couldn't have been more helpful, the property had everything we needed and was very well fitted out. When we come back to St Andrews, there's nowhere else we would want to stay.
