“WOW!”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Stunning golf course in a breath taking place! Once again the staff here were wonderful and could not have been more helpful. this has been the key feature of our trip to St Andrews throughout.
We were mildly wary of this golf course having read some reviews and having heard some of the comments about how difficult it was and how hard the greens were to play "unplayable" being the most common! Utter rubbish the greens here are what make this spectaculat golf course even more interesting and an all round wonderful experience. None of the 4 of us found it anything other than a fair and interesting challange and played not too far from our handicaps and shots dropped were entirely the fault of the players not the course. If you cant get inspired to play good golf here then a change of sport may be a better option!
In short if you are up here playing golf and don't play here you have seriously missed out, in pure golf terms this is the best course of the set. the Old has the history and the sense of theatre and the ability to make you tremble just a little on the first tee, Castle makes you grin and takes your breath away.

“Great course, not for novices!”
Reviewed 25 April 2014

Played Wednesday 23rd April - unfortunately, there was a huge mist that engulfed the whole St Andrews' area (not their fault!) and when playing, we could only see about 120 yards, so could not take in the marvellous surroundings. The mist cleared on our 15th hole and finally we were able to enjoy some great views. What I was impressed with was the offer, once we finished, to go out again, free of charge, as our original round was somewhat spoilt by the weather. Excellent customer service!!

The golf course is punishing and novices won't enjoy it. The club house is wonderful and you can see that no expense has been spared. The service is excellent, from the moment we arrived our clubs were collected from our transportation and ready for us after we had a light lunch. The range and practise facilities are excellent. Looking forward to returning again!

“Excellent test of golf..”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

Excellent set up from arriving at the door of the clubhouse. We were welcomed and shown where to find everything from cafe, practice area (with complimentary balls) putting area, pre round briefing etc. The course is a brilliant test of both long and short game and requires a bit of thought and planning. I would love to play this a couple of times to improve my local knowledge. Staff in the shop and cafe were very friendly and everyone had a smile on their face. Makes such a difference!!

A lot of fun and stunning views. Very difficult with the chasms and uphill snake like fairways. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

“Golf in Scotland”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

This is a beautiful course sitting on a cliff overlooking the town of St. Andrews and the ocean. Play is challenging with the hills and saw grass. Keep your ball in the fairway, or be ready to look for awhile. Beautiful pro shop and clubhouse with very friendly staff.
