have now played the course a few times in differing conditions I've finally come to the conclusion that I like it. Very much a case of playing shots to the right position on the fairways and green. Hit the wrong spot on a green, even with a great shot and you can be facing a horrendous put or even a pitch. Great value using the SGU rate.

I checked the time, the date, the calendar and European fight times. Yes, I could have flown to Cyprus in the five hours that it took my two ball to complete our round. There were no Course Rangers on duty to guide an endless procession of incompetent golfers who all seemed to be playing in front of us. You shall not pass is becoming the anthem of golfers World wide.
This is a well appointed facility with courteous Clubhouse staff, however I actually came to play golf, that was clearly not a priority on this day. The St Andrews Links Trust is a byword for those who respect the true traditions of our National Game, somebody should have told The Management at the Castle Course.
I make no comment on the Course other than to suggest that is not suitable for the very occasional social golfer. Even regular golfers with a Club Handicap will find this the most testing of courses.

Very nice links course carved along the coast with a fantastic view of St. Andrews in the distance!
Golfed here in the afternoon after playing the old course in the morning.
Greens are very difficult.

A very nice course with spectacular views. If you are a Braveheart fan this course holds some nostalgia for you. Some great angles to take memorable pictures.

Stunning golf course in a breath taking place! Once again the staff here were wonderful and could not have been more helpful. this has been the key feature of our trip to St Andrews throughout.
We were mildly wary of this golf course having read some reviews and having heard some of the comments about how difficult it was and how hard the greens were to play "unplayable" being the most common! Utter rubbish the greens here are what make this spectaculat golf course even more interesting and an all round wonderful experience. None of the 4 of us found it anything other than a fair and interesting challange and played not too far from our handicaps and shots dropped were entirely the fault of the players not the course. If you cant get inspired to play good golf here then a change of sport may be a better option!
In short if you are up here playing golf and don't play here you have seriously missed out, in pure golf terms this is the best course of the set. the Old has the history and the sense of theatre and the ability to make you tremble just a little on the first tee, Castle makes you grin and takes your breath away.
