We had a lovely 6 night stay. The setting was gorgeous and the rooms comfortable. The shuttle to town was a plus along with such a helpful staff. They helped us rent a car for a few days and gave us tips on things to do and see. My husband enjoyed the golf right on the property and my daughter enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was delicious. At our very early morning departure we were each given a brown sack breakfast-to-go since the dining area was not open yet. We were greeted by name as we came and went on our excursions. We loved our Scottish stay at the Fairmont!

We love Fairmont hotels and their frequent guest scheme. Enjoying our stay here beautiful location but they always let us down with very small things. We are currently staying in a Junior suite here just a couple of little repairs to the bathroom would improve like the broken tile filled in & painted & where paint around bath come off repainted and a deep clean of grout on floor. Hot Chocolate left one day but not the next. No skimmed or semi skimmed milk available for in room coffee. The chairs in the atrium breakfast area have stains that could be cleaned I'm sure. Breakfast good & the meal we had at the clubhouse was excellent of just a bit overpriced. Love Tam the dog but £20 for a soft toy.

Whilst I am pleased you enjoyed your overall experience with us, it was most concerning to read your review whilst you were with us. Our guests feedback is taken very seriously and I am pleased that our Director of Rooms had the opportunity to meet with to allow us the opportunity to successfully resolve any issues and ensure that you enjoyed the rest of your break.

Stayed here four night in July. Found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Shuttle service to and from town was timely and convenient, taxi ride back was reasonable. Concierge had very good restaurant recommendations in town. Note that many shops close at 16:00 so get your shopping done before dinner. Hotel spa service added to experience. Did not use pool, but other families had no complaints on supervised pool times for children. Breakfast buffet was average but a good place to try haggis! Kittocks Lounge served a great lunch and server was friendly with good recommendations for a local beer and menu selection. Loved the to-go breakfast brown bag when we checked out at 4 am for our flight. Clean room, housekeeping was adequate and attentive. Views from hotel were beautiful - the location of this hotel and service are the reason to stay at the Fairmont!

Room Tip: We were on second floor and had a great view. Ask for second or third floor room.

I read many of the reviews of the Fairmont before my trip and was concerned with some of the service concerns expressed. I found my concerns were unfounded. The staff from the front desk to the pub were fantastic. The rooms were modern and comfortable. The property was geourgous Scotish countryside with the links golf course view. The breakfast was fantastic with an omlette bar.

After stay at some great historic hotels, it was great to spend a few nighst at this fabulous modern hotel in such a great historic location. The hotel is a bit of a drive from central St Andrews, but it is a beautiful drive through the majestic country side.

If you are traveling through this area, this is worth the stay. You will not regret it.

Stayed here for one night as a part of our honeymoon tour of the UK. My husband is a Fairmont President's Club member and we always enjoy our Fairmont stays! The Fairmont Saint Andrews is especially nice and offers gorgeous views of the golf courses and the water beyond. We were also upgraded a room with a view and were offered champagne and chocolates to celebrate our honeymoon. Overall, a great stay!

This hotel deserves it 5 star status. The location and hotel are lovely. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. The pool area is good. I know there have been some criticisms of the policy of having children in the pool at set times but I found this to be a good balance between needs of those with younger families and those who like to get into a steady pace lengths in peace and quiet. Service was very good. Breakfast was excellent. We dined at La Cucina and the food was fine but not great. I had pre booked this because the menu was suitable and there was no menu posted online for the clubhouse. I did see this when we went for an afternoon drink there and for carnivores and seafood lovers like our family I think this would have been more enjoyable. Their most expensive dish was lobster at £30. Most steaks are around £27. Starters and desserts are around £7 and a 175ml glass of wine is around £6.50. You can see that your bill will quickly run up to quite a sum. You are paying 5 star prices for a 5 star location, hotel and service but the actual food quality and portion sizes don't quite match up. If you are going for a special occasion for a short stay or are a keen golfer then this hotel is worth it. If you are price sensitive, won't be making the most of the onsite facilities or are a bit of a foodie, then you really can get a better eating experience for a lot better value elsewhere.

Room Tip: You could ask for a seaview as some rooms face the sea and are high up enough to appreciate it.

We set high standards for our cuisine and as a matter of course monitor our prices to ensure that they are in line with other five star establishments within Scotland. I am disappointed that your experience in La Cucina did not meet your expectations and I will certainly pass your comments onto the relevant teams to ensure that our guests dining experience are of the highest order at all times and that our prices continue to be closely monitored.

We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Fairmont St Andrews in the future.
