I like this place - I've been to the restaurant twice t but I've heard the bar/beer garden is also very good! The main restaurant is upstairs in average sized room which is cosy and is nicely decorated with fairy lights at the windows. The food is a twist on Scottish cuisine, but i felt it was very French! However, on both occasions I went to Cottier's the place wasn't that busy and lacked a real atmosphere, but maybe this was because I went during the week?
The food was presented to a high standard, tasted lovely (though my friend thought his food was a tad dry) and our waitress was very attentive. The prices on the 'A la Carte Menu' are pretty pricey, but the Table d'hôte is reasonable.
