“Amazing Experience!”

My partner and I stayed here in June and I must apologise for not writing this review sooner. From the moment my partner and I arrived at the Glasgow Guest House and met John and James we were made to feel extremely welcome. John informed us of places of interest nearby and gave us our keys to our room which was pleasantly furnished and spotless. These standards were matched throughout the guest house. Breakfast cereals were plentiful plus a choice of cooked breakfast or fruit platter. John even ordered our taxi as we were going to a concert nearby. On arrival we were a little early and John was out but when he arrived he made us bowls of fresh strawberries and cream and brought them out to us whilst we were sitting in the sun. John and James are fantastic hosts and I would definitely return again, again and again!!!

I should preface, with the fact that our ETA was 4pm, but we ventured into town (via car) after arriving early (no one home) and got so lost after the museum that we didn't actually return til 6pm. So our greeting & tour was very rushed. Leaving me to wonder if we'd interrupted his plans.

the host was helpful and checked on us several times. no complaints.

we got room 1 - would not recommend: wifi doesn't work b/c the thick walls. the bathroom was door was a 'closet' door that didn't shut all the way, there was no shower curtain/door/wall/anything (handicap accessible), and there was a long window w/out blinds or curtains. we were not comfortable showering in this open room with a window to the sidewalk that ALL guests were required to use to access the house. the window had 'wavy' glass, but my husband went outside to look & he could see me - i could see him! needless to say, one of our towels was used as a curtain. that left us with ONE towel to be used for everything. (no hand towels. wash cloths etc). And it is very noisy with other guests coming in at 1am. 2am. 4am....

breakfast was fine. i ordered brown toast, but got white. my husband's was not quite right either - not the end of the world, but they just didn't seem too attentive to details.

all in all, it was fine. served its purpose, but would not recommend. (definitely needed a woman's touch)

I stayed one night here as a solo traveller and could not have chosen a better place. Originally a large Glaswegian family home, the house was lovely, the decor throughout was warm, elegant, comfortable and with an understatedly Scottish theme. Thoughtful touches such as a downstairs kitchen for night time coffee/tea drinkers. Comfortable rooms and a sitting room for guests. Brilliant breakfasts with choice of artistically presented fruit, Scottish cooked breakfast, scrambled eggs etc, cooked by the host who was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Very enjoyable stay.

My husband and I stayed here on the first and last nights of a 2 week trip to Scotland. So John and his guest house were the first impressions we had of Scotland and it couldn't have been better. Because our flight arrived at 6:30 am from the States, John was kind enough to let us drop off our bags first thing since our room wasn't available until that afternoon. Even though he and his staff were busy serving breakfast to their other guests, they took the time bring us tea and let us relax in the lounge before we headed into the city. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. The breakfasts were wonderful. John was very helpful in arranging taxis for us to and from the airport.
We loved the location. Short walk thru a lovely neighborhood to the train stop and 5 min ride into Cental station. Also located close to 2 parks that we walked to on our last day. We would definitely stay here again in we are ever back in Glasgow.

This was an absolutely perfect place to stay! John is a wonderful host, all the rooms are warm, comfortable, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean, and the breakfasts are excellent, catering for every appetite (the fruit platter is a work of art!) We were really well looked after by John and James, who were incredibly helpful and attentive, but not intrusive. Our family group of 13, (aged 20 - 82 yrs), booked out the whole guest house as pre and post wedding accommodation for our daughter's wedding at Pollockshields Burgh Hall on 19th October 2013. This gave us all the benefits of having our 'own place', but without the drawbacks of 'self catering' for a large group! (Although the guest kitchen is a great bonus too, ideal for preparing snacks and those late-night cups of tea). The guest lounge is spacious and the calming décor and soft lighting make it very relaxing. It was like a little haven of tranquillity on the morning of the wedding! The close proximity to the wedding venue, airport, station, and city centre made this an ideal place to stay, especially as we all travelled to Glasgow from far and wide. We would definitely recommend the Glasgow Guest House - thank you for your wonderful hospitality!

Stayed for one night during a short break visit to Glasgow.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming at all times as were the rest of the staff throughout my stay adhering to any requirements necessary.

Great location to Glasgow city centre with free parking, very comfortable, clean and warm throughout the guest house, what more can you ask for?
Great breakfast menu to choose from and presentation of food was brilliant, look forward to staying again!

Cheers

The Glasgow Guest House hospitality is a qualit of 5 star. John and Mark are very friendly, welcoming, helpfull and ensured that we were comfortable. The establishment is very well maintained and spotlessly cleam. Rooms are very comfortable and breakfast is the best with a variety, esp the fruit platter. Glasgow Guest House offers the best price on tariffs and it is located to great facilities nearby. We throughly had a pleasurable experince, over all the quality for everything was the bestest. Also, thank you to James for making our stay enjoyable.
We will be visiting Glasgow Guest House very soon again and for times ahead!
