“Short stay hotel”
Reviewed 30 June 2012 via mobile

Nice hotel in a really good area for venturing out. Rooms were okay and breakfast was nice. No bar and no free parking. Good hotel for short breaks but for me I would not stay again but that's just because it had no bar.

I had super stay here. It's an older building so you have to be expecting a more European style hotel. But everything was in good shape and charming really: Walls and doors freshly painted, updated bathroom fixtures, plenty of hot water in shower, good wi-fi in the room, etc. The staff were super friendly, efficient, hard-working and nice: I can't recall any time where I have felt everyone from the front-desk clerk to the people staffing the breakfast buffet all seemed to like their work and did everything they could to keep things ship-shape. I was concerned about the safety of a ground-level room but ended up feeling fully secure (the sticker on the window saying there was an alarm helped). The breakfast buffet was quite good: coffee machine that makes expresso and cappuchino as well as filter coffee, apple and orange juice, fresh croissants, jams, fruit, eggs, etc. The hotel's location is excellent also, with both downtown and Kelvingrove in walking distance, and the Glasgow School of Art right up the way. Would definitely stay there again.

Good hotel, central location in Glasgow, with American standards (although the room was tiny and cramped) which we had not always experienced in other Scotland country inns/hotels. Staff was friendly, breakfast was good and generous. Not an overwhelming, but nevertheless adequate/satisfactory experience.

Have just spent a week at the Best Western Glasgow City Hotel. The booking agent had mucked up the reservation but the reception staff couldn't have been more helpful to get things sorted out.
During my stay there, the breakfast was always plentiful and included several choices, the room's linen was changed daily and the water pressure of the shower was so much better than many hotels I've stayed in.
It was the staff though who deserve the accolades. From the maid to the maintenance man to reception to the breakfast supervisor who made sure everyone had enough of everything - these are the people who made my stay such an enjoyable one.

Room Tip: Front rooms are larger and back rooms are quieter.

Spent a most enjoyable three nights last week with my wife. Convenient location, decent rooms, excellent breakfasts but most of all it was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff which made our stay so pleasant.

Second year running we have stayed here. Both times very good with good sized room. This years room could do with a bit of love and care in the bathroom but overall still very good.
Breakfast is one of the best and I have stayed at many hotels. The hotel is very well situated for the centre of Glasgow. Staff are always very helpful. Wifi not very successful.
