We chose this hotel as it was well located and a reasonable price for a city centre hotel.

Our check in was faultless. A very nice girl checked us in and showed us to our room, pointing out the breakfast room on the way.

Our room was nicely decorated and a good size. As we were below street level our windows both gave a nice view of a wall. The bathroom was nice and bright and had a shower and a bath.

The bed was very comfy but unfortunately we did not sleep well. As our room was at the front of the hotel and below street level we could hear every car and person as they went down the street. As the building is older it does not have double glazing so the soundproofing is non-existent. I was woken up several times during the night by people shouting and singing on their way down the street and also seagulls squawking constantly.

There was a good choice for breakfast - cereals, croissants, fruit, yogurts, rolls, toast, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs etc and even tattie scones!

We used the free wifi with no problems at all.

Car parking is available in the Charing Cross car park which is just around the corner from the hotel. Reception can stamp your ticket for you before you leave which will give you a discount on your parking.

All in all it was a nice hotel and I would go back but would request a room at the back.

Slightly run down, no restaurant, no bar, no gym or pool, poor bathrooms and little natural light in room. Also beware of laterooms charging more than the rate advertised in room. Not three star, for sure - more of a b&b feel.

This hotel is located near central Glasgow, but is still fairly affordable. The staff are very welcoming and are keen to fulfill even the oddest of requests. I really liked staying at this hotel and would recommend it to anyone with a limited budget who wants to have a place close to downtown Glasgow.

We had a very spacious and well-appointed room (203). Excellent buffet breakfast and hotel convenient for city centre.

i have stayed here 3 times with my wife and i honestly think its the best hotel in glasgow the staff are superb check in great nothing is a problem, dont look at you funny if you have got this hotel on a offer. the only complaint i have is i have emailed 3 or 4 times lately looking for a booking in march time for my birthday and would like a good offer as i have sent 20 or more of my work and freinds there to stay so i have made them have a extra few bookings. if you could email me back i would give this hotel 10/10 but no reply is a bit of a fluster as i would love to stay here again but might need to look for another place but for any one wanting a top hotel i really think this is the best and ive stayed in most of them in glasgow. i really would get booked up for a great wee break.

Room Tip: find directions before you go so you dont get lost

Nice hotel in a really good area for venturing out. Rooms were okay and breakfast was nice. No bar and no free parking. Good hotel for short breaks but for me I would not stay again but that's just because it had no bar.

I had super stay here. It's an older building so you have to be expecting a more European style hotel. But everything was in good shape and charming really: Walls and doors freshly painted, updated bathroom fixtures, plenty of hot water in shower, good wi-fi in the room, etc. The staff were super friendly, efficient, hard-working and nice: I can't recall any time where I have felt everyone from the front-desk clerk to the people staffing the breakfast buffet all seemed to like their work and did everything they could to keep things ship-shape. I was concerned about the safety of a ground-level room but ended up feeling fully secure (the sticker on the window saying there was an alarm helped). The breakfast buffet was quite good: coffee machine that makes expresso and cappuchino as well as filter coffee, apple and orange juice, fresh croissants, jams, fruit, eggs, etc. The hotel's location is excellent also, with both downtown and Kelvingrove in walking distance, and the Glasgow School of Art right up the way. Would definitely stay there again.
