My partner and I recently stayed here for a weekend get away in Glasgow. On arrival we were greeted by Charlie from reception. We were offered all the help you could imagine. The room was great and well equipped. After going out we returned to the room about 10pm to some noise outside and before we had chance to say anything we were called and offered a different room once again courtesy of Charlie. In short great room, great staff, great value, great stay!

I visited the Acorn Hotel on Sunday 19th February for one night with my husband. We chose the hotel because of its proximity to our favourite restaurant in Glasgow.
The hotel is quite small and modern - it looks as though it has recently been done up and is on a quiet street. Our room was quite small but had plenty of storage and a nice, clean modern bathroom. There were GHD stylers in the room - a definite bonus for me!
We were able to walk into the centre of town in around 15 minutes. We parked easily across the street from the hotel. Parking was free on Sunday and did not seem to be too expensive at other times, unlike the city centre.
Breakfast and toast was cooked freshly to order in the morning and cereal and fruit were also available. We only saw one member of staff who checked us in, offered to take up our bags and also cooked our breakfast. We didn't get his name but he was extremely helpful and polite, as well as working very hard!
We have stayed in may hotels in Glasgow and on the last few occasions I have found it difficult to sleep because of street noise when clubs and pubs are closing but there were none of these problems at the Acorn.
We will definitely choose to stay at the Acorn again.

We stayed at the Acorn hotel on Saturday night and was very pleasantly surprised on arrival. At first we were slightly concerned it was too much out the way from the city centre but actually it is only a 5min taxi journey which cost about £6 to the other side of town and the good thing was its located away from all the hustle and bustle of the town centre. There is free parking on Saturday nights too which was a bonus and parking bays directly opposite the hotel which we could see from our room.

The Rooms are exactly to the pictures advertised, modern decor, extremely clean and bathrooms to a very high standard with a great power shower. Lovely! Bedroom was a little snug but done the job and we were very comfortable. Bed was comfortable and we got a great sleep. Noise levels were not an issue even though our room faced the main road.

On arrival Charlie at the reception desk was extremely helpful, helped us find out bearings for our evening plans and organised a taxi for us which arrived within 2mins of making the call. Very pleasant staff willing to help out.

Breakfast was also very good!

Coming from an extremely fussy female who likes her comforts, I would recommend this hotel and will be returning again in the future next time we are staying in Glasgow.

My partner and I went to Glasgow for a short break (Fri-Sun). We decided against taking the car and took the bus instead. With only hand luggage each this was a striaght forward walk to and from the bus station.

Situated by Kelvingrove Park it is ideally situated for visiting the Kelvingrove Art Gallery/Museum and the Riverside Museum. It is also a short walk away from Sauchiehall Street, the shops, restaurants and bars.

The room was clean and warm. The bathroom was modern and spacious. The shower was glorious, I could have stood under it for hours. Just what you need after pounding the streets of Glasgow all day!

Charlie on reception was cheerful, helpful and unusual for a man, very good at multi-tasking! His full English cooking at breakfast couldn't be faulted.

If you don't want a cooked breakfast there's a good choice of cereals , fruit juices and grapefruit.

When booking the room I was surprised at how cheap it was, but pleasantly surprised by the facilities when we got there. Any future trip to Glasgow will involve staying here again. Well worth the money.

Stayed here in December whilst attending a concert at the nearby SECC.
Room was clean and tidy, breakfast in the morning was also good. Tiny little criticism would be why do they only have one member of staff on duty covering everything (even though he was very helpful and efficient)?
Worth a second visit as it is handy for for both the West End and the City Centre.

Room Tip: Room number 8 is double aspect and could get a bit noisy.

This is such an excellent hotel that I have returned already and booked a further stay. There are so very many things to commend: the understated yet classy design of the rooms, the choice at breakfast, the free Wi-Fi, the hotel's delightful quirkiness, the location (walking distance from the city centre yet on a quiet side street), and above all the outstandingly welcoming and helpful staff.
I am really looking forward to coming back.
