Lovely reception and bar areas with very friendly staff. Our room was on the top floor on the corner and was huge. Furniture a bit tired but everything else was fantastic. I'm told by friends in Glasgow that the Lorne's restaurant is one of the best Indian restaurants in the city, pity we did not have time to try it out. Another positive point is that the hot breakfast is cooked to order which is very rare these days and was lovely.
The hotel is well located for the west end and all the attractions the area has to offer. We found it cheaper to book directly with the hotel as their price included breakfast. Room 515 was ours and I would recommend it for the views alone.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel for two nights and were sadly disappointed by the hotel! When we arrived the reception looked great with a lovely bar and fancy seating area! When we eventually found our room and brought our bags in we suddenly found faults! Sockets on the walls were coming loose, there were no mirrors, holes in the walls ( presumably where mirrors used to be!) Our view was of roof tops and a vent! And then i found hair in the bed! We complained at reception so the offered us another room which was not any better and also smaller with the corridors smelling of sewage mixed with indian food from downstairs! We were shown around three other rooms to which by this point we both lost hope of a decent room and just settled for one of three! This hotel was a huge disappointment but we didn't let it spoil our weekend and made the most of it! Would not stay there again im afraid.

The reception area is promising but unfortunately the rooms are not quite so impressive. My room was tired with worn furniture and dirty carpet. The kettle didnt work. The shower was excellent though and bed clean & comfortable and had good nights sleep. Little storage especially wardrobe space. Breakfast was awful first day it was served buffet style but was stone cold as the air conditioning was blowing directly onto it. No Orange juice nor coffee. Second day breakfast was cooked to order and still managed to be cold and still no orange juice. Position of hotel is good for Glasgow and for secc. Reception staff were extremely helpful.

I was concerned about staying at this hotel after reading the reviews. Having called the Hotel to express my worries, they upgraded our room to a Deluxe room free of charge. It was fabulous, the staff were helpful and friendly - I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will be back (hopefully soon.)

We booked last minute, via 3rd party hotel website and were told our room would be a standard double with a city view. When we checked in we were told that they were fully booked and that there was a function on (Saturday night) and that they would ensure the noise was kept to a minimum. When we arrived in our room, our "city view" was of the air conditioning vent, and the function suites were 4 doors away on the same floor.

The function kicked off around 8pm and by 10pm the noise was unbearable - every time the doors were opened for someone to use the bathrooms (next door to us!) we heard extremely loud music and drunken chatter. On complaining to reception we were told "you were informed of the function at check in" and we had to argue for a good 5minutes before they offered to change our room. We were then told to go to reception to collect the key to the new room???

If they were fully booked as they claimed to be - why were we given an alternative room, and why wasn't that room offered in the first place, instead of the rooms next to the function suite???

We will never return to this hotel as the level of customer service when we complained was bordering on ignorant and as if they couldn't care less.

Room Tip: Avoid room 110 and any on 1st floor aas they are adjacent to the function suites. Always ask for at...

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Lorne Hotel in Glasgow, the hotel is situated in a great part of Glasgow minutes away from the city centre but far enough to enjoy a peaceful nights sleep. the rooms were amazing, very spacious and modern great value for money!!!!!!.....we enjoyed fantastic breakfast's and dined every night in the restaurant within the hotel as we found the food so enjoyable on the first night we couldn't bring ourselves to go anywhere else... the lamb chops were to die for the flavours just right and sooo succulent....the hotel also has a cocktail bar, and must suggest that if anyone visits the Lorne Hotel then their Strawberry Daiquiri is a MUST best cocktail i have ever had. All in all my stay at the Lorne Hotel was very pleasant, the staff were very friendly and made you feel very comfortable and relaxed. Great Hotel for a trip to Glasgow City Centre, will be returning very soon.
