I am staying here for 1 week whilst working for the Commonwealth Games as a volunteer and its absolutely fine. You get what it says on the box. Its student accommodation that is used as a hostel during school break. The location is good, just 20 minutes walk for a 60 yr old man from Central Station and five minutes walk to a very buzzy and lively main street full of bars restaurants and shops. The nearest metro station is 5 mins walk and is two stops to the city centre. The area is very quiet and safe and you can be in Kelvingrove Park with a 10 minute stroll. The rooms are small, but perfectly functional and clean. Have been here 3 days and no sign of any cleaning service. En-suite is small, but they all are at universities. Plenty of hot water.
The kitchen area is large and well equipped with fridges, freezers and 3 cookers. The cookers are a tad slow to heat up but who cares.......just take an extra 5 minutes to do your cooking.
There is a sunny courtyard at the rear with a few bookable parking spaces and picnic benches.
For any parents wondering if its OK for their children to stay here, or for single people staying here then worry not. Each block is extremely secure with 2 locked doors before reaching the bedrooms.
Staff on reception are helpful and kind. Each room has its own wi-fi router and its excellent, 24/7, and free and secure.
I go back to my first comment. You get what you pay for. Its not the Ritz but if you want luxury go elsewhere. For a short stay in the city for whatever reason its fine, clean and safe. For the happy traveller on a budget I recommend it 100%
