“Buffet Dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2014

The buffet at the Crowne Plaza is well worth a visit, not cheap but good. One roast meat, many other hot dishes, inc. vegetarian and fish, accompanied by a good selection of vegetables created an excellent main course. Starters and desserts are served from the kitchen and ordered form the menu. The choice is small but the quality is big!
Smoked Haddock Fish Cakes to start, Beef Stroganoff as main, and Lemon Possett for dessert is a simple dinner, but of very high quality. At a reasonable price and with good wines by the glass(both driving!), we had an excellent dinner

“A lovely snack, fantastic breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 March 2014

AS we had eaten a large lunch in town we had a sandwich and a pannini. They were both great value for money with plenty fillings which were very fresh, both came with a small bowl of crisps,
Breakfast was 1st class with lots of fresh fruit, cereals, juice etc. The hot food was excellent and loved the haggis. Overall one of the best breakfast I have had in a hotel.

“Poor service.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 March 2014

I was joining my friends later for lunch here last week . After waiting for over half an hour, my friend had to go in search for a waiter to take my order. When he did arrive I was overwhelmed by the stench of strong body odour emanating from the waiter. Surely in the hospitality industry someone from management at this hotel would have a quiet word as it is extremely off putting for the diner. After that, every time he walked past the smell overwhelmed us. Food was OK, but I had to ask for cutlery etc. Just not good enough for a Crown Plaza establishment.

“Grant dinner!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2014 via mobile

The hotel recently renewed their restaurant & bar area. It looks amazing, good eye for details and the biggest lightbeams I have ever seen :-) Then the food, started with haggis (first time) very nice, the rumpsteak was tender and perfectly cooked and to finish I enjoyed the warm brownie. This all accompanied with a lovely Pinot Noir from New Zealand. As the Irish in Scotland would say: it was grant!
