Fantastic restaurant and wine bar. The food is authentic Italian not like the run of the mill menus that you see everywhere. Excellent atmosphere and great fun staff.

If you are looking for a taste of Italy on the South Side of Glasgow you can do no better than a visit to Bacco Italia on Kilmarnock Rd Shawlands. The staff are friendly and welcoming and make your dining experience an exceptional treat. There is an expansive menu which would undoubtedly cater for all paletts. The food and wine on offer adds a modern twist to your traditional Italian cuisine and is truly delicious. There are varied party nights available as well. If you are looking for a romantic night or even a big night out this is the place to go.

Today was the first time I had been to Bacco and found it a great experience. The service as soon as you stepped in the door was first class. The high standards continued with the starters: 4 different types of Bruschetta. The main courses consisted of delicious Gnocchi with italian sausage and Meatballs in a ripe tomato sauce. My wife and I shared the most amazing freshly prepared Pannacotta for desert. We then indulged ourselves in a Champagne cocktail prepared by the manager. All in all it was a superb dinner and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I was in Bacco as a birthday treat for my 12 year old daughter, and family. What a wonderful experience with fantastic regional food that left the grandparents and youngsters truly impressed. Service was exceptional, including a traditional Neapolitan cake for the birthday girl. Outstanding food, great service and exceptional value, I would highly recommend Bacco as one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to in Scotland.

Ate there for the first (and last) time on Saturday evening. Food was average (small plate of mussels to start and 4 bits of cheese ravioli for main). Dessert was large but not very good. We should have ordered from the main menu as the Christmas menu is £28pp and not good value. Our fault for not asking the price as it is not on the menu so watch out for that. A rude waitress insisted we had to order coffee when ordering dessert as they wanted the table back for 8pm despite us asking when booking what the policy was regarding our 14 year old as we would be there after 8pm and were told by the manager it would not be a problem. I found the staff rude, the service very slow, the restaurant too noisy and the manager unable or unwilling to deal with our complaint properly. The bar area was freezing. Not sure whether this is the original management or has been taken over as some previous reviews were good. Perhaps we just got them on a bad night but we certainly will not be back!
