“best coffee shop in west end”
Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

Freshly baked carrot cake was like a dream, same for scones.the cappuccino was of high quality and the gingerbread syrup took it to another level. The best place to be for a cup of coffee and breakfast in glasgow. Even though the place is small, it suits it cause it makes it feel warm and homey.the staff was excellent and had a big smile for all of us.keep up the nice work guys thank you.

“Amazing Wee Place”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Came across this place entirely by accident, after a stressed out morning trying [unsuccessfully] to get parked within range of first Kelvingrove Museum and then the Botanics - this in lead up to Commonwealth games so we were naively ambitious and in real danger of utterly disappointing two patient wee grand daughters of 5 and 3. The welcome and service here saved the day. Two babychinos delivered in double quick time before utterly delicious pea soup. Ciabattas other wonderful bready veggie delights served by really friendly but not in your face staff who knew how to engage with young chilldren. A colouring book and crayons were produced to tide the youngest one over the wait for her freshly made sandwich - and the place was buzzing busy too.

The food is made to order on the premises and executed with flair and talent. Interesting daily specials like haddock with capers, tomato and olives served with roast potatoes on offer.

A fabulous wee place that turned what was heading for disaster into a delight. Thank you

“Italian Gem in Glasgow”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Regularly have coffee here on Sundays, and food if we are treating ourselves. Esther treats everyone as if they are friends, and makes you feel very welcome. She is always smiling! A fantastic little place, and highly recommended if you like great coffee, delicious food and a warm Italian welcome.

“One of the finest in Glasgow”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We are regular visitors to North Star and it is one of our favourite places to eat or just to have coffee. The food is always lovely and in particular the specials are quite superb. Fresh, well presented and full of flavour.

Not only is the food lovely, customers new and old are always greeted by a warm welcome by Ester, Maurizio and their staff, regardless how busy the cafe is. In fact, the customer service this small cafe delivers its customers is one of the best you will find. It puts similar cafes and larger restaurants to shame.

We could go on and on about North Star. We have never heard a bad word about the place. If you are ever in the area, pay a visit and find out why so many people highly rate it!
