Room was exceptionally small & there was very little space for bags etc or to hang clothes so we were always tripping over things. Bed was ok but not brilliant - it would have been nice if it had been made up properly instead of the pillows & covers just being slung in a heap. The "self service" check-in seems a bit odd when in reality they have to have someone there to tell you what to do and we were not alone in trying to fathom out the system. Breakfast was ok but not fantastic - again, you're left to your own devices in trying to figure out what's included & what isn't. Still, it just about did the job for one night - any longer would have been a nightmare.

Room Tip: There are no best rooms - they're all the same.

Hi “DavidW49”,

Thanks for sharing about your experience here on Trip Advisor.

The citizenM room is small, 14 sq meters, but smartly designed to offer a comfortable short stay. An open suitcase fit in the large drawer under the bed and table can be used for a notebook & personal belongings. Most citizens love sleeping in a great bed covered with luxurious Frette linen and large comfy pillows, reflected on other reviews here, but I understand it doesn’t satisfy everyone.

We make use of technology to optimize the hotel stay - instead of occupying staff with bureaucratic work like making copy of passport and re-writing guest information, they are 100% of time helping guests, including assisting those who need assistance at check-in (taking no longer than 2 minutes), but as well anything else concerning the stay, recommending places in the city, during breakfast etc.

I wish you safe travels.

All the best,
citizenDiego

First time to the Citizen M, and certainly will not be the last. It is fresh, modern, luxurious beds, a room with just enough of the essential parts, funky place and very helpful staff.. a very good experience..

Room Tip: High Room with View..

Location is a few blocks from major stations like buchannan street bus station, which makes for easy in and out from the airport to the city center.

Check-in is self service, which is a little disconcerting if youre used to a more personal touch. No problems, but it was just unusual. Same for check-out.

Internet throughout the hotel is free, always a plus. The chips are also free at the bar.

The quality of the room is good, its a bit small for what you pay for in my opinion. The bed takes up the end of the room with the window. It's a huge bed and really comfortable, but yea it takes up a good deal of space. So the desk and roaming room is kind of skimpy. The room has color changing mood lighting controlled by remote, pretty cool but it made me wonder if that's what I was paying for. If so, I'd rather just not have it. Its a cool touch but not really all that worthwhile. The bathroom was fine. The fogged up glass shower would take some getting used to if you are staying with a business colleague or someone youre not totally comfortable around.

The shower is good, its a rainfall shower and is ample enough.

I was kind of annoyed that there is only one waste bin in the room and its in the bathroom.

Having to go through security when coming back to the hotel during after hours was kind of annoying. If I'm out after a good night, the last thing i want is a bouncer standing in my way. The elevator doesnt let you in to other floors without your key anyway. It seemed pointless to have to clear your stay by presenting your key and last name with a bouncer before being let into the hotel at night.

Overall, the hotel is nice and has some cool features but i question if they are worth the price you pay.

This is a new hotel in Glasgow. You are first struck by the modern, clean, "swanky" look. Almost want to call it the "i-hotel". No lobby, just a check in station where you use computer to check in (with assistance available). The rooms are high tech but very small. As someone with very slight chlaustrophobia, it was too narrow and small. I did not want to spend time in that room. There is not restaurant, just an option to purchase a la carte from displays.

Hi “JodyWelker”,

We believe you shouldn’t pay for the huge room you don’t need, the citizenM room has 14 sq meters and is functional for a short city stay. We focus on a comfy bed with luxurious Frette linen, great power rain shower, free wi-fi & movies on demand and a twist, the Moodpad which you can use to control everything in the room, including moodlighting. in a city with range of good restaurants nearby, Ambassadors are more than happy to suggest options - our food & beverage outlet downstairs is a place to grab a quick drink and snack 24/7, eat & lounge in one of our living rooms, just like your own home.

All the best,
citizenDiego

I've stayed at CitizenM, Glasgow half a dozen times or so now and it has never let me down. It is an unusual, but thoroughly enjoyable experience and is unlike any hotel I have stayed in before. Any problems I have had, and they have been few and only ever minor, have been fixed immediately.

The rooms are a decent size, not massive but they are not cluttered either. The bed, pillows and duvet are superb and I always get a great sleep when I visit CitizenM. Every room I have had has been spotlessly clean.

The rooms near to the lifts are sometimes a little noisy and the breakfasts are often not very hot, but these are only minor comments and they wouldn't stop me recommending the CitizenM over any other hotel in glasgow.

The staff are also very good, they are friendly and always happy to help.

Room Tip: Go for a courtyard view room if you want it nice and quiet, you normally get a room choice on check...

Totally recommendable. The whole hotel is cool and everything are modern design. The room has the best and huge bed I've never slept. The lobby is great, there are a lot of books and design armchairs to rest after a hard day, There are also free macs with internet and a great bar with drinks and food. The staff are very friendly and helpfull.
The hotel is the city centre, 10 mins walk from central station and 5 min from Queens station. I will return to this hotel!!!
