We stayed for one night during the Commonwealth games so the room was more expensive than usual. Rooms are small but has everything you need including a great bed and all the lights/tv/curtains controlled by a tablet. Breakfast was average but had a fairly decent range. Coffee was good! Staff were always very friendly and chatty and made us feel welcome throughout

Stayed here for the 1st time as we were going to the nearby Theatre Royal. It's a great city centre location for the shops and restaurants. The only down side is that there is no on site parking. I love the self service check in/out which is so easy and the rooms. They are very small, not a lot of room, however really like the mood lighting and funky furniture etc. the breakfast is very tasty and plenty choice. Will be back again soon.

We loved the crazy humor, great design and friendly staff. Location and price were great too. We could have used a bit more storage space but we were only there for 2 nights so it didn't matter much. I thought the breakfast buffet was a great deal too but my husband missed having his eggs done to his preference.

We chose this hotel last year for our 1st anniversary and it speaks for itself that we went back for our 2nd, and will return next year for our 3rd (if not before). Most ppl go on holiday to get out of the house and away from the tv but because of our busy lives and jobs this is exactly why we love this hotel as it has everything we need to relax, from the free films, big tv and big comfy bed.

The first morning we spoke to reception as for certain reasons we had not had the best sleep. We were met by Chris who at 8am was vibrant, understanding but most importantly sat us down to listen to what we actually had to say. Action was taken immediately and we never had to lift a finger as all the staff are great and so efficient. Breakfast was complimented on both days which was beyond anything we expected and we didn't feel like this had been given as a brush off as Chris followed up with us later to genuinely ask about our stay.

The rest of our trip was awesome and i even snuck down for a pudding pot at 12am which had nuts on top and caramel at the bottom and chocolate ganash in the middle. Amazing for that midnight craving.

WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!! :-D

Room Tip: We have stayed on the 4th, 6th and 7th floors. 7th was my favourite because i could see the cranes w...

i wasn't quite sure if i was going to enjoy this concept but everything from the self check-in, to the size/quality of the room, the self service breakfast bar and most importantly the staff, i really enjoyed during my stay at citizen m.
during my two night stay 95% of the staff i came into contact with were female and (at the risk of sounding sexist) i really liked the atmosphere/vibe that they created. the ladies who worked during breakfast and during evening drinks were exceptionally personable and well trained, a real delight to be around.
my room was small, comfy, functioned well and i really enjoyed the fact that the in-room movies and wifi were free of charge.
self checkout went quickly and smoothly, all-in-all a pleasant experience.
i have already signed up as "a citizen" on the hotels website and am looking forward to checking out some of their other locations (shame the ny hotel is in time square) and receiving my 15% discount for being a citizen!

I really don't know where to start with this hotel. I will start with the positives...the staff were fantastic, the room was extremely quiet and cool and the bed comfortable. I was put up here by my company during the Commonwealth Games and despite being on the 2nd floor, was never once disturbed by any noise from the 1st floor bar. OK, now the negatives...I love technology and gadgets but they must work. The idea of having a tablet controlling your TV is insane if the system is flaky. I needed the system reset 3 times and after that just put up with the flakiness. The bed was comfortable but would've been a nightmare for a couple as would have lack of hanging space as many others have mentioned. Yes it is different to the standard chain hotels, but there is a reason why they work (I spent one night in Crowne Plaza)..ironing board, trouser press, wardrobe, tea and coffee making facilities are all seen as standard facilities and while boring, when you're on the road, they are essential. Now breakfast..I liked the various spaces you could choose to sit and have your breakfast, but the wait at peak times to get your coffee in a take away cup, meant that I had usually finished my cereal while standing there. Finally I've got to say that the name is simply enough to turn me off and I'm afraid I won't be returning by choice
