I think that there is now a weight of expectation attached to this hotel given it’s placement on tripadvisor. The novelty of the room soon wears off and the free movies are not exactly the latest blockbusters (though the selection of porn is varied if that’s your cup of tea) But at the end of the day you are left with a very comfortable bed, a great shower, friendly staff, a good location, and all at a very reasonable price. Though as some other people have mentioned it’s probably more suitable for couples or single travellers given the slightly see through nature of the shower ‘pod’ (which is actually quite fun when you are with your partner) and the easy access to hardcore porn.

We stayed 2 nights in the CitizenM in Glasgow, we were down for a concert in the Royal Concert Hall which is just around the corner. The hotel is very well designed and the rooms are very modern with everything from the heating to the curtains controlled by the remote control. The rooms are very small though, very small.

We had a short 3 day trip to Glasgow and stayed in CitizenM hotel. Despite our late arrival around 2am, the ambassador was very kind to us and explained how the self-check in/out procedure works, which was not at all complicated. We could even choose if our room will face the city or the courtyard! The lobby was situated on the 1st floor instead of the usual ground floor and it was very uniquely designed. It was more like a lounge/trendy home than a hotel lobby.

Our room was situated on the 6th floor, which gave us a nice view of the city. The bed was massive (bigger than king size I think) and the linens were very soft. My boyfriend had a good fun for at least an hour playing around with the remote that controlled basically everything- the blinds, TV (which included free movies) and the mood light in the shower. The room was very small indeed compared to other hotels of similar price range. However, the layout of the room was very efficiently done so it didn't give us any sort of claustrophobic feel.

At CitizenM, there is no "restaurant" that opens during certain times of the day. Instead, there's something called "CanteenM" that opens 24hours a day and has a variety of food to choose from- simple breadroll, pain au chocolate to sushi. Price was a little high but since it was a hotel, I thought the price was quite reasonable. The ambassadors serving the till and the bar were very kind and friendly. Always had a smile on their faces.

The location of the hotel? Smack in the city centre. Just around the corner there is Cineworld and Buchanan Galleries, and about 5-10 minutes' walk straight down Hope Street you're at the Central Station! Very easy to navigate around even if you have no sense of direction like I do and never been to Glasgow before.

Overall, my boyfriend and I very much enjoyed our stay in CitizenM Glasgow. One thing we were unsure of though was the privacy of bathroom. The walls of the bathroom was made of glass which was opaque but we could easily see the silhouette and shadows of each other when we were in the bathroom. (Not that I'm complaining) All I'm saying is it is good when you're with a spouse or a partner but might be a little uncomfortable when you're just with a friend.

Myself and my fiancé are just back from the Glasgow CitizenM after a long weekend. We chose this hotel as we had seen the fantastic reviews on this website and we were not let down. The rooms are well priced and although they aren't huge they have all the modern amenities you would expect, the bed is large and extremely comfortable and the staff were nothing short of friendly, polite and helpful. My only bugbear was that some of the canteen items were a little on the expensive side, but besides that I honestly couldn't be happier with my experience and look forward to booking in again next time I visit Glasgow.

I stayed at the citizenM Hotel with my partner. On arrival, we were greeted by a welcoming and friendly member of staff who helped us use the Touch Screen to book in. We even got a choice of 2 rooms, and picked one on the 2nd floor. The room is quite small, but adequate, and perfect for an overnights stay. The bed was very comfortable and very big! There were 2 extra pillows and extra towels in one of the storage drawers of the bed, and also a safe to lock away valuables. The moodpad was a lovely touch, although the alarm isn't very loud, the lights changed and you can do everything with the touch of a button. There is no car parking for the hotel but there is a car park about a 3 min walk round the corner (it cost £6.60 for 17hrs). The hotel is right in the centre of Glasgow, and there are lots of lovely bars (which are really reasonable) and there is a fantastic Chinese Restaurant on Sauchiehall Street called China Blue which I would recommend. We didn't eat or drink in the hotel, (but there was food on hand 24 hours) so not sure on cost of food and drink there, but it was very busy when we were on our way out, and the kind and friendly staff even offered to call us a taxi. A definite thumbs up and would definately go back to stay again

stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, on arrival at the hotel, all seemed very good, check in was very easy, finding our room which was 206 also very quick in the very fast lifts, we somehow entered room 205, our keycards opend the door, then we realised we were in the wrong room, so we went to our room 206 and the key also opend the door, very strange, the staff sorted our key cards for us and said that we shouldnt have been able to open any other doors but we could, we un packed our things, then discoverd the very hi tec remote didnt operate the blind, or tv or the lights, phoned reception and they said they would get it fixed, left the hotel for a good few hours to return to find they had fixed the lights and blind, but the tv still wasnt working, went out for dinner then came back to see if tv was working...and nope it wasnt, we had to ask to be moved room, so they gave us the 7th floor, room with a beter view, all was working in the new room, after all the complaints we cud settle down and enjoy the hotel, we did enjoy it, we would go back to this hotel, as its very well situated, we wouldnt have breakfast again, cost £9.95 per person and was luke warm, the staff in the hotel were fab,

Top tip: get a courtyard-view room as they are quieter than the street-view rooms.

For anyone staying in Glasgow, this is a pretty good bet. It's located three minutes from Buchanan Bus Station (for the airport bus) and not far from Queen St Train Station and lots of shops. It backs on to the Theatre Royal.

Check-in (self-service complete with touch screens and a card machine) is easy and there's usually someone around to help. The seating area is smart and modern all red and black. There's a small canteen/bar area. I wouldn't recommend the dry, plastic sushi unless it's late and you're desperate but the bar is convenient for a few beers.

The whole establishment is clean and tidy. Rooms are compact: smart wood-laminate floors with white furniture designed to take up minimal space. The shower and loo are encased in a floor to ceiling frosted glass enclosure with the piece de resistance - colour lighting in the ceiling - that bathes everything in a comfortable glow. You can control the colours, check the weather forecast and watch free films using the remote control. There's a wall-mounted flat screen TV above the king+ sized bed, great for snuggling up.

This place is great value for £65 a night (October 2010; reserved in advance). I used it as a base for a postgraduate exam and it worked well.
