I was staying for one night due to a conference and shared a twin room with a friend ,bed's comfortable and room very spacious, bathroom spotless and a great power shower , dined in the resaurant with four other friend's and meal and wine lovely , no complaint's from any of us and reasonable priced , service was great.
I had tried to book a table but was unable get one for eight o clock ,however we wandered in at nine hoping to get a table and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
Would definetly go again .

This hotel is very convenient for everything. Travel, shopping, and seeing the sights.
Beautiful, spacious rooms with everything to hand for a pleasant stay. Showers are a decent
size. and everything so clean. Good old fashioned Glasgow hospitality also in evidence.

We stayed for one Friday night in April and were very pleased with the hotel.

The decor is lovely. It's an old, grand building and has, I think been quite recently renovated. They have put a lovely modern on spin on plush old grandeur. The building is massive and has a wonderful huge staircase with an amazing chandelier (which they just wouldn't make room for in a modern hotel build). The building is huge, taking up two sides of huge Central station, and the corridors and rooms are very spacious. You could have fit two London hotel rooms in our standard double. The whole place was spotlessly clean. Our room had a wonderful giant shower head but there did seem to be a bit of a shortage of hot water.

The location is very central. As mentioned, it is part of the station building (though we didn't hear any train noise) and is right in the heart of the city centre, and only a few minutes walk from Queen Street, the other main train station. Airport buses stop very near. It's also just a stone's throw from the riverside.

The service was generally friendly and attentive although when we asked about the artworks in the building the receptionist found it greatly amusing that they'd been asked that so many times before and they still didn't know!

We had breakfast in the Tempus restaurant and it was just fine with everything you'd expect in a cooked and continental buffet. As a Scottish breakfast should, it included a good morning roll and potato scones.

The champagne bar is fabulous and overlooks the busy station. Grab a window seat.

Room Tip: Get a 4th floor room just so you can walk down the fabulous staircase each day.

Spent one night in the Grand Central on the way to Tenerife, so an early start in the morning meant we couldn't enjoy the breakfast, but reception were quite happy to have room service send up some cold food the night before for us to have at our convenience in the morning. We had a special deal through "itison", with complimentary champagne, but we were in no way made to feel any different from guests paying full price !
Fantastic room - large, great bathroom, toiletries, flat-screen tv, very comfortable bed, modern furnishings. It wasn't quite ready when we arrived, so we went upstairs and waited in the very comfortable bar area, where the barman of his own accord offered to contact reception and let us know when the room was ready.
We ate in the Tempus restaurant - gorgeous meal, excellent waiting staff, good ambience.
Can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We only had a one night stay as we were going to the Lakes but we considered changing our plans to stay in this lovely, friendly hotel.
We were a little frazzled after a 4 hour drive but from the minute we stepped into this hotel we relaxed. The concierge was an older gentleman who would be a fantastic advert for employing the more mature members of our community. He was lovely to my little boy who took to him straight away & on departure, even got a tissue & wipped his wet nose for him. Only a Grandad would do a thing like that. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area & a credit to this Grand but friendly hotel. We stayed on the evening of the 20th April, so if management read this, please thank him for us.
The receptionist was again, lovely & friendly & made checking in easy. And then we found our room, and all I can say is wow! Even my little 2 yr old said wow! I would have paid double for this room, it was HUGE with a big bathroom.
We ordered room service & it was delivered promptly & with professionalism. It was also, by far, the best room service I have ever had!
On checking out, the receptionist, was again, fantastic & patient.
If travelling by train, I would not choose any other hotel. To be honest, travelling by car & finding the car park & the Harry Potter Experience of getting from the car park to the hotel, I would still choose this fantastic hotel! Well done everyone, you & your hotel are a credit to Glasgow!

Stopped at The Grand Hotel for two nights this weekend. The staff were very helpfull and well mannered. the room was spotless. Our room was on the 4th floor and overlooked the station. Very minimal noise at night which did not interfere with sleep. We were unable to eat in the restaurant in the evening due to private functions but were directed to other establishments by the concierge. The location was perfect for the Town centre The breakfasts were excellent.Car Parking was at Oswald Street and access from the Railway Station, the hotel discounted the car parking which was great. I would definately stay here again

We stayed for two nights at the Grand Central hotel. It was the starting and finishing point for two days of travelling on the West Highland Line. The hotel is perfectly situated for train travellers, being part of the Central station. It is a wonderfully old fashioned, handsome building - with echoes of the splendours of the heyday of rail travel.
The place has been very well renovated. The rooms we stayed in were very comfortable and the bathrooms were modern and clean. The first room we stayed in had a faulty tv which switched itself off after about three minutes - very frustrating when trying to watch a programme. However It wasn't a big deal and not really important. We reported it at check out the next morning.
Our second night at the hotel was just as comfortable. We had a smaller room but a huge bathroom. Both of them very clean and beautifully appointed. There were only three pillows on the bed but all it needed was a quick word to reception and two pillows were sent up immediately.
We did not eat dinner at the hotel but the breakfasts were excellent.
The staff were all very helpful, pleasant and efficient.
