On arrival the concierge was very helpful with parking and the local area. The room was clean and looked amazing. The view was of the train station so not fantastic but noise was next to none. The hotel was in a great location and the rooms were very spacious. It was nice to have a bath and a shower in the room and after a day of rugby it was needed.

We stopped here as part of our Honeymoon, in an executive double.
From the very beginning of our visit we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was ready a few hours early, so we were allowed to check-in straight away.
The room was bright and spacious. Extremely well decorated and very clean. The large bathroom again was exceptionally clean and looked fantastic. Bed was very comfortable.
The champagne bar in the hotel is well worth a visit!
The only downside was that upon check-out they tried charging us for £25 worth of phone calls made from our room around 10 past midnight one night. On that night we actually didn't return to the hotel until approx 1.30am!!! And why would we make that amount of phone calls on the hotel phone when we both had mobiles!! Check your bills! After 10 mins of arguing, they took the charges off!
Dispite that, we would definitely return in the future.

stayed here for one night in august 2012 - perfect location, love the railway feel of the hotel with contemporary colours and design, our room was amazing and the bets shower I've ever had and a mirrior that that was heated so unfogged itself. loved the champagne bar and only negative was car park was a bit far and expensive. staff at reception and in the champagne bar were unhelpful and service was very slow. concierge was great. would stay again! love that the hotel is connected to the train station

Due to this historical building being originally build to work alongside Central Station it is the perfect location for all train lovers as our architecture and style throughout the hotel captures that history.

Principal Hayley’s £20 million refurbishment in 2010 was a great success story to bringing this iconic building back to its former glory and was voted Best Medium Sized Venue in Scotland 2012.

Thank you very much for all your excellent feedback and a warm welcome awaits your next visit.

Stayed for one night in a twin room. Room was huge, clean and modern. The bathroom was amazing - huge bright clean! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only disappointment was breakfast. We arrived at 9.45 for our food and it felt like a lot of the hot food had been sat out for a long time - but rubbery and tough- shame as would recommend this hotel.

They have done a renovation that deserves full accolades at the Grand Central. It's worth staying just to see this. In particular the Champagne room bar is a pleasure to behold as is the main staircase with the 20meter chandelier running down between the floors. The rooms were not opulent but nice and convenient. Beware the long hallway if you have walking problems and request to be near the elevators
The problems were the wireless didn't work very well and I had to go out to the hallway every time to connect and if I was lucky enough for it to last the full 30 minutes Id have to re do the whole procedure. It was better on the laptop but the smart phone didn't cope with the in/out reception.
Breakfast was expensive and their ground floor breakfast room was understaffed so I had half a cup of coffee, some mediocre breakfast and bailed. Personally I'd eat elsewhere and spend the money in the champagne room at the end of the day instead.
The staff, though few, were really good and Gordon the concierge was how you'd like very concierge to be. He was helpful in the extreme and when we inquired about Thai food he said he'd heard of a new good one nearby (Chaphraya)but wouldn't recommend it until he'd eaten there, as he didn't like giving unfounded recommendations that could come back at him. As it happened we ate there anyway one night and it was sensational so we passed that on to him.
An example of the friendliness was the happy helpful guy in the morning who helped us lug our bags to the taxi refused the 1 pound tip! So I have concluded that the Scots are REALLY friendly as opposed to the wanting a tip friendly. How refreshing! If only there were more people like the Scots travelling would be even more a pleasure. Thanks guys.

Room Tip: Unless you like long walks, ask for a room closer to the staircase.

only stayed one night, wish it had been longer, i didn't want to leave.
rooms gorgeous and spotlessly clean. spacious. despite the hotel being situated in the middle of bars and clubs we heard no noise and slept well. huge bed and very comfy..
staff couldn't do any more for you, very kind and helpful... all staff smiled and said hello when you passed them in the corridors.
many thanks to the concierge on the afternoon of the 24th august.
had a drink in the bar, also very nice.
will definately return in the future

Attended wedding at Hotel last weekend and the hotel is really nice decor, rooms and service all first class. The decor in the ballroom was breath taking for the reception. The service from the hotel staff is excellent and everyone had a great time - rooms were a great size with plenty or room.
