Interesting history or Rennie McKintosh and excellent (almost) panoramic views around the city, even on a wet and dull day

The staircase from the 3rd floor allows visitors to climb to the top of the old water tower to the external viewing gallery for a 270 degree view of the city - even on a rainy windy day it was worth it!
The building was Charles Rennie Mackintosh's first commission in Glasgow and now includes an interesting overview of his work in and around Glasgow. Another fascinating exhibit when we visited was a collection of aerial photographs of Scottish shipyards, factories and mills from between 1920s and 1950s.

We visited the Lighthouse at the last minute looking for shelter from the not-so-friendly Glasgow weather and were pleasantly surprised to find a nice exhibit dedicated to Rennie Mackintosh. And once the weather improved we ventured up the lighthouse to take in the great views round the City. Worth a visit for sure.

Can't missed this. Walking up the spiral staircase of 133 steps to the roof top, great 360 degrees view of Glasgow! Also many about Mackintosh if you a fan of art.

The best view of the Scottish city, plus great information and cool stuff exposed through the three floors about architecture and the work of Mackintosh
