Stayed at 1 Devonshire for 1 night before catching a flight to New York. If you have no reason to visit Glasgow then invent one so you can stay at this hotel. I knew it was good, but it far exceeded expectations. Fabulous, lavish merchant palaces built at the height of Glasgow's prosperity and beautifully preserved. Cosy, lavishly furnished rooms and bathrooms and probably no two the same. Open fire places in the living room and a relaxing dram before bed. Excellent value for money all things considered - one of the very best. Also the 9 am Continental flight from Glasgow is a very convenient way of hopping over the pond. Much better than staying at some over-priced clip joint in London and fighting your way thru the masses at Heathrow.

My wife and I arrived with high expectations, based on previous stay's at other Hotel du Vin's. We were not disapointed.

Great staff, excelent location (walking distance to many restaurants and pubs), a fabulous room. We loved it!

I usually travel to top 5 stars hotels that are quite disappointing, specially regarding the price paid for the stay. Hotel du Vin was just the contrary: a very pleasant surprise; a really elegant and cozy hotel in a calm residential area (not too central), with beautifully appointed rooms and superb bathrooms.
Our room was decorated in dark colours, with elegant pieces of furniture and big bright windows, including a crystal dome in the room which shutted and opened electrically. There was a big attention to detail, with flat screen TV, DVD, speakers, minibar and even a golf play.
In room breakfast was well worth it: abundant and delicious, with fruits, natural juices, youghurts, cereals, toasts... (although it came a little bit late).
The bathroom was even more spectacular, decorated in gray paper and wood, with double sinks and separate shower and bathtub, and what a bathtub! There was a crystal roof, so when you were having your bath, you could see the sky and the clouds moving. There were even two candles for a night bath and other very nice -and not frequent- details.
Common areas were also very elegant, with a very correct combination between classic and modern. Just one warning: as the hotel occupies the space of five upscale houses, it can be a labyrinth, with many stairs (not friendly for disabled people).
Really excellent stay. Highly advisable hotel.

I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone planning a trip to Glasgow. It was simply gorgeous (both the room and the overall hotel). It's not far from the West End, where all the action is and the staff are always happy to help should you need anything.

If you can afford it, you've got to go here!

Stayed at One Devonshire with my wife the night of our first wedding anniversary at the beginning of a tour of Scotland. Luckily managed to stay a Sunday night and prepaid, thus managing a rate of only 80GBP ... usually 240GBP as I understood. The room was wonderfully decorated, the ensuite huge, with a great rain shower and a huge separate tub. The putter, ball and putt return machine was a nice added touch. Overall, the hotel definitely had a sense of grandeur, and the reception area was like nothing we have seen - more like entering a private estate home. Free private parking around the hotel perimeter was great, but somewhat expected since you are outside of the city centre. We had dinner at the restaurant, which was fantastic, albeit pricey, but that was expected. The whisky bar is nearly unparalleled with a selection in the hundreds. Would stay again in an instant, but not sure I'd be willing to pay full price ...

Really enjoyed my stay at One Devonshire with my wife.
This is the first stay weve had here as locals but thought we'd stay just to top off a night spent out with friends.
Both returned feeling suitable relaxed

The hotel wasnt overly busy so we were given a free upgrade.
Our room was dominated by a stunning 4 poster and the room was spacious yet tasteful and simply decorated.....not flashy.
The room came supplied with plasma Tv ,BOSE stereo etc.

We'd have no hesitation on returning or recomending to friends.
