“Enjoyable Stop over”
Reviewed 26 September 2012

we stayeds on Fri 21st Sept for the one night, we were in town for a concert, good location for town centre, staff very helpfull & welcoming, we liked the room & decor although a tad small but with a nice bathroom & shower and better than usual toiletries.

After concert came back to Bar and had a couple of drinks, bar was nicely busy with a good buzz & friendly staff. We did notice the surrounding streets were being used by the local boy racers driving round and round the block but fortunately this did not keep us awake (that may have been something to do with the wine). Scrambled Eggs & Smoked Salmon breakfast was excellent.

Location of hotel was ideal for us, parking so far away to ensure car secure in Q Park was the only inconvenience but overall an enjoyable stay & would go back.

Room Tip: standard rooms a tad small go for a larger room.

We pushed the boaty out and upgraded to a suite. We were not disappointed with what we got. Two lovely big rooms and an equally impressive bathroom. The staff on reception were very welcoming and helpful. Location is a little further out from the City Centre but still within walking distance. The only down side was lack of an outside area for drinks, but the bright and airy bar area definitely made up for this.
Try this place as it is a change from the stuffy corporate type hotels that you are often forced to stay in and you will not be disappointed.

We stayed for 2 nights the 22nd and 23rd of September and never got any sleep!!!
The outside is a racing track where large groups of teenagers race their car past your hotel window till 5am in the morning.
We complained to reception and were moved at 4am to another room where we still could hear the roar of engines.
The next morning when i complained again i was told theres nothing they can do!!!! and as a token of goodwill could have 30% discount off the night.
Well let me tell you when you book a hotel room you expect sleep and if you don't get it you should not be charged.
The hotel know this is a regular problem so if you value your sleep do not stop here .

Room Tip: "Bring ear plugs if you value your sleep"

This is a decent boutique hotel in a good area of central Glasgow. No car park, meters outside the hotel are pricey. £2.40 per hour. Room was ok, shower was very good. The coffee is those annoying coffee bags that hang over your cup , and goes all over the place !! Why do hotels never give you more 2 small cartons of milk each , it's tough if you like more milk in your coffee !! We arrived back at the hotel around 11.15pm and ordered a very pricey pint of Heineken and a glass of wine. The bar looked as if it was closing but I was told as we were resident the bar woud still be open. Went back to the bar at 11 55pm to find it was shut ! Had to go upstairs to reception to order another drink just before midnight. I got the impression that they wanted to get the bar closed and cleared, irrespective whether or not a guest wanted a drink. A large concert was on in Glasgow and guests were arriving back to a closed bar before midnight

I was treated by my wonderful girlfriend to a fantastic night's stay at the Malmaison recently and would be quite happy to reccommend the hotel to anyone. Not only did we feel very welcome by the friendly and competent staff but the 3 course meal was cooked and presented to an excellent standard and did feel like the treat it was for me. The building is well thought out internally with nice stylish fittings with a classic yet ambient feel to it. If you fancy treating yourself to a quality hotel in the heart of Glasgow you can't go wrong with the Malmaison.

Stayed overnight last week, had a ground flooor room which was larger than expected. Nicely decorated. Bathroom is clean but tiny but has a good shower albeit over the bath. The carpets could do with being updated as there were a few stains but otherwise it was clean and tidy. Although and iron, board and hairdryer are all provided, they are of pretty poor quality and not terribly powerful. Main complaint is that the beds are quite hard and not very comfortable. Breakfast is good, freshly cooked to your liking, in addition to cereals, patries etc that are laid out. Finally, there was only one girl on Reception so I had to wait in line to check out in the morning which is not ideal.

Room Tip: It's a quirky building and layout and most rooms are indivually decorated so I imagine they will...

This boutique hotel is a charming spot. It is located a few minutes off the M8 and I found parking very easy to get nearby. The feel that I got off it was that it was a little small, but cosy has a place, right?! It's small but very charming and I most likely would stay there again.

For one thing the room over looked what appeared to be either the bar or main reception air, with the window right beside the bed. So no scenic view (or window privacy) but we did check-in late in the afternoon, due to some engagements in the city. Although being a bit 'pokey', the room had a nice finish to it and was comfortable.

Breakfast and newspaper brought to the room was, however, fantastic. Everything asked for was brought and alot was asked for! Beautifully presented and absolutely no complaints! And a good breakfast was needed - for the night before the hotel's bar and eatery downstairs was given a full test. It passed. Service was efficient and friendly in the bar and the setting has a very comfortable feel to it, even though the drinking was done at tables sitting down. And there is a very tasty food menu there on offer also.

Room Tip: Ask for a large room - one that does not over look the reception!
