The hotel is very run down and basic, Our room had broken taps in the sink, dirty floors, and a very uncomfortable bed with one thin pillow. As it is in the city center it is quite noisy but i guess thats to be expected. However the location is perfect close to everything and the breakfast was ok.

I stayed in a single room on the second floor, rear facing.
Though compact the room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was basic with signs if wear n tear but again was clean. My only complaint would be the walls are pretty thin so it may be an issue for light sleepers!
Location is good though being situated on a steep hill with a two flights of steps before you reach the hotel door makes it not for the unfit or disabled.
Overall its a basic and conveniently located hotel five minutes walk from the main bus station, ideal if your flying into Glasgow. The bus goes from outside the main terminal.

As previous contributors have said..."You get what you pay for." The hotel is a bit tired but the room we stayed in 216 was quiet clean and tidy. The room was on the second floor so plenty of steps. The breakfast was very good with the service excellent. The other plus is that it is the nearest hotel to Glasgow `Central' station and if you need to catch an early train it is just the job.

There are plenty of good eateries within walking distance as well as a host of pubs suiting every taste. We would definitley go again.

Room Tip: 216 is very quiet although is oon second floor.

It's a 2-star hotel, what are you expecting?
The room hasn't much space (for more space, look for a more star hotel!), it was clean and the breakfast was very good.
The recepcionist was a very nice man, we enjoyed our first scottish chat about our trip, his daughter (?!) and what to see in Scotland. He also borrow us a mobile charger

Stayed here for a conference found the rooms dull dingy and out dated! Breakfast was good but the hotel is like a rabbit warren and the basement area feels like you are in an old persons home who can no longer manage the upkeep of a house

Arrived 09-07 met by a very friendly helpful receptionist, allocate my room which was 54 stairs away no lift no suitable for those who cannot climb stairs.

The first room was an attic budget room with only a sky light for air and a electric fan doudle bed clean and tidy and an old 17 inch television that did not work.

Returned to the receptionist and asked the poosibility of changing rooms which was granted and I found myself in a twin room modern clean and tidy and only 41 stairs to climb.

Breakfast was very well presented and plentyful, coffee, tea, water provided in the rooms which were cleaned and tidied daily.

Worth a visit for those who are fit and energetic

Room Tip: fit persons only and ask for a room on the lower 3 floors

Stayed one night in triple room. Room was clean and nice though a bit old fashion. Before we arrive, we read about the steep slope and the staircase leading to the hotel. As we have few big luggages, we email the hotel requesting for a room on the ground floor. When we arrived, the room was ready for us. Staff are very friendly, nice and helpful. Even the night porter is a nice old man.

Breakfast was good for amount paid. Overall, hotel,is nice and affordable.
