“Great for Bathrooms only and not much else at the GOMA Modern Museum of Art”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

The Glasgow Modern Museum of Art is good for one use, the bathrooms. This teeny tiny museum in the middle of Glasgow says its a modern art museum but its really 3 tiny floors containing a few pieces of art on each. Its free to go and if you want to check it out for yourself it's easy to get in and out of but I promise your trip won't last more than 5 minutes. There was a nice expo on the third floor that had around 15-20 pieces (the most in the museum) but thats was it.

“not suitable for Children”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

Popped in with my friend and our children.. The first impression was wow, however, we made in our way into the first gallery where a bunch of TV's were playing the weirdest and dark explicit material, which really disturbed our children, the youngest being 2 years old.. At one point the eldest covered a certain TV as it was so explicit for our other children.. Much prefer the classics... Rather recommend Kelvingrove Art Gallery.. The ability to express thoughts and feelings should involve discretion.

Really disappointed.

“Fun and Quirky”
Reviewed 14 July 2014 via mobile

We visited this gallery last weekend, which is just behind the iconic Duke of Wellington and traffic cone statue - perfectly representing the fun, quirky exhibitions currently at the museum itself.
The current exhibition space was part of the Generation Scotland exhibitions going on through many galleries throughout Scotland, and we were met with some incredibly fun pieces of videography and small cardboard structures (which were a highlight) as well as more postmodern sculptures and small art timelines in the smaller galleries.
Overall a great few, fun hours out in an art gallery, and a great place to see the young artistry talent in Scotland!

“A good place to visit in the center of Glasgow”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

The Gallery of Modern Art is conveniently located not far from Buchanan Street and the main railroad station, charges no admission (though donations are welcome), and has interesting travelling exhibits along with the permanent collection. It also has a small but pleasant cafe, where we had sandwiches and soft drinks at prices comparable to, or maybe a bit better than, other places in the city center. We hadn't planned to visit GOMA, just came across it while seeing the sights, but are glad we did.

“Outside building exciting.”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

It's a little disappointing when you actually get inside, I think the gallery needs updating and the lay out could be a little clearer. It's a shame that on my visit the exhibition was a little dull but the team working there were very involving and helpful.
