A bit out of the way, particularly if your time is limited in the city, but great relaxing location - if it is not pissing with rain! Relaxed café bistro.

This is a beautiful house and well worth a visit. It has a super gift shop, full of lovely things, and a lovely cafe. Definitely worth spending a leisurely afternoon looking round the house, filled by a visit to the cafe and shop.

House for an Art Lover is an amazing, distinctive art nouveau architectural gem designed by Chas. Rennie MacIntosh ....with adjacent but unconnected lovely walled garden. Also very attractive highly recommended restaurant open for lunches and coffees at moderate cost. . Excellent food.

It is set in parkland. Conveniently near to it is the magnificent Burrell Collection - also set in parkland.( almost walkable but a taxi is preferable) .From the Burrell Collection it's a a short walk to Pollok House, located in the same park with its lovely gardens and delightful walk along the river and shallow falls .
It may take two days to cover these venues, but start out early.

Just one stop on the train from Glasgow Central and you are in the leafy suburbs of Dumbreck, and a 15 minute walk will take you to this magnificent house. Only a few rooms are open but the in-depth digital self guide (at no extra charge) gives you lots of information and you can wander around at your own pace. Well worth the trip if you have some time. The cafe in the basement is a real treat, but you may have to book ahead for weekends and peak season.

House for an Art Lover sits in the magnificent Bellahouston Park. The surroundings are perfect for this architectural masterpiece. Weddings, parties, conferences and food visits are superbly catered for within Mackintosh's masterpiece. A visit here will be a well-remembered treat!
