“Lovely day”

Plenty of variation on exhibits, took around 2.5 hours to get round but I like to study the paintings so could be quicker, thoroughly enjoyed the visit and it was all free!!

“Always worth a visit”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

As regular visitors to Glasgow we visit quite often and always leave feeling enlighten. A good cross section of artefacts from ancient history to recent times (I do still miss the model ships since they were moved to the Transport meseum).
As a bonus it is next to Kelvingrove Park which is an oasis in a busy part of town.

“Be Selective”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Amazing building. It would be easy to do far too much an remember nothing, so do a little research beforehand and decide what to see. Well sign posted, well displayed exhibits and a good café = well worth several visits.

“Time well spent”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Really enjoyed the few hours we spent here. A really beautiful building, with some very interesting artefacts. We spent most of our time in the Glasgow and Scottish sections, learning about the history, architecture, art and development of Glasgow. We particularly enjoyed the 'Glasgow Boys' paintings and those of the Scottish Colourists. However, there were many other areas for people with other interests.

Entry was free, but donations are accepted - well worth supporting this lovely place , if you can.

The on-site cafe was very reasonably priced and there was a small but varied selection of inviting food for lunch. An added bonus was that there was a recital on the beautiful organ at lunchtime, so we were treated to a free concert.

Will definitely visit again.

“Didn't Quite "Get" It”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

The museum houses an eclectic collection in a beautiful building. There are many interesting artifacts, but the museum on the whole feels a little tired and the mission of the museum slightly lost in translation. With free admission, you won't lose anything by stopping by, but I wouldn't cut something else out of your trip to make room for this.
