“Eclectic collection - worth an hour”
Reviewed 21 July 2014 via mobile

This beautiful Victorian museum is like a snippet of all the big museums in London - and, indeed, many of the pieces on display are on loan from London Museums. Fossils, stuffed animals and natural history displays, a mummy and a small but very nice Egyptian collection, as well as Victoriana and then upstairs there's an ethnographic collection an galleries of paintings. Well worth a wander round - free entry.

“A museum the entire family enjoyed”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Museums are always tough on my family ... some of us like art, sometimes modern, sometimes renaissance, while some of us like technology or industry, natural sciences and some history. So to find a Museum like Kelvingrove is a real find. Literally everyone found something they enjoyed or found interesting. And all for free admission (and 3# donation request). A wide range of exhibits was displayed, and the exhibits just the right size to enjoy without fatiguing you from ever wanting to walk into another museum. To the curators of Kelvingrove: Bravo. A rare balance of quality and quantity in a museum.

Plenty of variation on exhibits, took around 2.5 hours to get round but I like to study the paintings so could be quicker, thoroughly enjoyed the visit and it was all free!!

“Always worth a visit”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

As regular visitors to Glasgow we visit quite often and always leave feeling enlighten. A good cross section of artefacts from ancient history to recent times (I do still miss the model ships since they were moved to the Transport meseum).
As a bonus it is next to Kelvingrove Park which is an oasis in a busy part of town.

“Be Selective”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Amazing building. It would be easy to do far too much an remember nothing, so do a little research beforehand and decide what to see. Well sign posted, well displayed exhibits and a good café = well worth several visits.
