this is fourth time at this hotel, cant realy fault it, bar the breakfast on sun morning it was a shambles, no fault to the breakfast staff,i think someone thought it would be a good idea to let 1 or two coach loads who just arrived in for breakfast, rather than tell them to checkinn then come down when the guests who stayed that night had there breakfast,,as they cleared every thing out,and then never put there trays back, lluckily agnes at the reception came and gave the staff a hand to replemish nearly every thing,,,,,,also being in a room above the pub downstairs is really noicy,

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. I am pleased to hear that you regularly choose us as your preferred hotel when you come to Glasgow. I was disappointed to hear that you experienced issues on your last visit with regards to breakfast. As you are a regular guest you can see this is not the norm. I will pass your comments on to Agnes and the team.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the future,

Definitely the best hotel which we ever stayed. Rooms are very clean and guiet. Reception staff are very helpful and polite. They know everyfing special girls Laura and Agnes. They treated us as VIPs all the time. Breakfast area is clean and the food( hot) is superb. Hotel has great location-Merchant City- just 2 min walk to pubs and restaurants. We will book this hotel again because we felt as it was our second home.

The only good things to say about this place is the shower was reasonably powerful, and the usual reasonable Holiday Inn breakfast
The location was fine- if you're happy on the outskirts but there are many more central options in a similar price range. The bed was particularly uncomfortable, especially the pillows. The TV was tiny and no channel guide so the only option was to flick through channels. There was no double glazing to speak of. The room was warm enough but there was absolutely no sound protection. Every utterance from outside floated straight into the bedroom- the area was busy at night and late into the night (even though we were there mid-week). People were clearly drunk and noisy which disturbed us considerably. The glazing was so bad that even the rain woke us up when it was especially heavy at 5.30 one morning. How exhausting!

Room Tip: Aim to be as far away from the street racket as possible

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for your review regarding your recent stay here with us. I was disappointed to hear that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. Out bedroom televisions are due to be replaced at the end of this year and will be replaced with 32" flat screen televisions with an interactive tv guide options. As a city centre hotel located on a busy main road there will always be some noise issues due to our location, however we do have quieter rooms located to the rear of the hotel away from the main road which you can request at the time of booking. Please accept my apologies that your stay was not as expected.

Ideal for a short break in Glasgow. Situated by the river Clyde it is within easy walking distance of City Centre and tourist buses which take you to all main attractions. The rooms are clean and comfortable and supply the usual facilities such as TV hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities. The furnishings are minimal, there are no cupboards or drawers, clothes are put on to open shelves or hung on a rail. The door to the en suite facilities is dual purpose, it can either be used to close off the entire en suite facilities or to close off the toilet only, leaving the shower and wash basin open to the bedroom. The breakfast has a good continental variety with a less extensive range of British cooked breakfast and a temperamental toaster which activated the fire alarm on our last day, causing us to be evacuated outside into the rain, until the Fire Brigade arrived and declared the building safe! The reception staff were very helpful and provided good information on sightseeing and local events.

Room Tip: We requested a twin bedded room which was provided on the second floor in the front and this was qui...

Often stay in Holiday Inns and have to say this is one of the best. Although discounted parking is £8 per day the location is excellent, with everything within walking distance - and therefore you save on taxi fares. Staff were friendly and efficient, room very clean, and the free breakfast, while offering little choice, was greatly appreciated. A great base to explore Glasgow.........

A great place to stay if you want to be near the City Centre. I arrived at Glasgow Central station and left the following morning from Glasgow Queen Street and it's no more than ten minutes' easy walk from both.
Clean and comfortable room (they took note of my request for a quiet room at the back which doesn't always happen!) and all staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Check in was one of the quickest I have ever experienced and breakfast was available even before the 6.30 start time - very useful!
Overall a good choice at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back if you are a light sleeper.

From the evening bar banter, polite and friendly reception service to dealing with the fire alarm at 6.30am, the staff were constantly great! the little extras like picking up the phone quickly, letting us use the luggage cupboard just before and after check in / check out made our whole experience of Glasgow a whole lot better. When the fire alarm went off the staff were quick to share the information they had and organise the crowd.Their communication after the event was also great, but we were quite happy just having 4 fire engines full of firemen turn up for our friend's hen do. As I said, great little extras! Oh, and nice clean rooms. Would definitely book there again. Thanks!
