Loved the location, loved the hospitality and the staff. The little Pub by the hotel was an icing on the cake. Only a short walk away from Buchanan street and the Glasgow Park - very conveniently located along the river. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Got the family room which overlooked the river. Loved it. Guess all corner rooms would have views of...

Stayed here for end of June for 4 nights. The location is excellent and very near to St. Enoch Square and Argyle Street Train Station. The other major shopping malls are just within walking distance too.

Furthermore, it is only 10 minutes walk to the Glasgow Central Station and St. George Square for us to wait for our tour bus for our day trip to Loch Ness and Loch Lomond. The Glasgow bus hop on hop off station also near the hotel too.

Our room is situated at the corner with a nice view of the Clyde River. The room is also very spacious with 1 king bed and 1 sofabed.

The buffet breakfast is good and served from 6.00am. They also provide microwave oven near the elevator if you wish to hit your food in the middle of the night when you feel hungry!

Hotel is located with in close walking distance to down town, shopping district, lots of restaurants, and the hop on hop off tours. Rooms were average, beds were good and clean. Good value for the money. Breakfast buffet had lots of choices. Open early in the morning. Staff were friendly. It's a good basic hotel close to everything you want to do.

We stayed here early July but I had stayed here on previous occasions which were also good. Its ideally situated near major shops such as M and S, John Lewis and other major chains.
Staff were very pleasant and very helpful. The room was a typical city centre but in good condition, clean and had decent facilities.
Breakfast was the typical IHG Express breakfast but was free and perfectly adequate with offering of hot food and continental.
Parking was as with many city centre hotels was not on site. However, there was an open parking area within a few yards and a discounted Q Park which was more secure about 5 minutes walk away.
The only irritating thing as with all IHG hotels is the free WiFi. As ever speed were ridiculously slow. I measured its speed several times over the two day speed and it was never faster than the free to air 3G signal on my phone.

this hotel does what it says on the tin. It is a nice hotel by the riverside, designed for short stays, business trips etc. rooms have all that you need for a short stay, were very clean, and have good shower. breakfast is self service buffet, and there is a fair choice, cereals, toast, croissants, eggs, sausage, beans, toast, fruit, yogurts. it is a 10 minute walk from central station, and is 5 minutes walk to the "style mile". close to merchant square, with the open top bus tour outside the hotel. we were very pleased with our hotel, and would recommend. glasgow is a great city and well worthy of a visit.

We arrived to find that the double room we'd booked and paid for was a twin. Turns out that the agent we booked with (hotelbeds) got the room type wrong - not Holiday Inn's fault but not ours either, and they're the ones in a position to fix it. Upon raising this, Kate on reception began to explain that there was a double room to be vacated soon and she'd ask housekeeping to clean that one next for us. However she was interrupted by Jim next to her (whom I found to be very rude and unhelpful) who snapped "If it's not ready, it's not ready. Will need to be 3 o'clock". He made no apology for this and continued with what he was doing - I think Kate was embarrassed in all honesty. I have worked in hotels, including housekeeping and know that this is not an unreasonable request, so I can only imagine it was a deliberate attempt to be difficult. So her next best suggestion was to push the twin beds together - and that's exactly what they did. It took Jim almost the whole time we were waiting at reception to offer tea/coffee only as Kate returned a minute later to say the room was ready. No effort was made to source the correct sized lined for the now king-sized bed - so we were left with two indescribably uncomfortable single beds literally pushed together with a gaping middle and a double 'duvet' (term used very loosely) which barely covered the both of us. I could have pushed the beds together myself in the same manner they did.
Room was cold, with no extra blankets for cooler nights. Wafer thin pillows again with no extras available in the room. I barely managed 4 hours sleep.
After a terrible nights' sleep, I was looking forward to a good feed. I shouldn't have bothered - breakfast was a joke. The buffet area was really small resulting in a constant queue and dodging other hungry guests, poor selection (beans, sausage, scrambled egg, toast, cereal and hot drinks from a machine) and nothing for veggies. Had to wait for plates and even then less than a dozen were brought out - wet from the dishwasher (but at least they were clean). Staff barging past guests carrying hot bain-marie plates displayed deplorable customer care.
We were only here for one night but even then it was in my top two worst hotels every used. Would rather pay a little extra for a decent nights' sleep!

Room Tip: Rear facing room was quiet - from street noise at least. Noise from other guests unavoidable!

We enjoyed our stay at this modern, efficiently run hotel, close to the Hop On, Hop Off bus to tour the city and a very short walk to good restaurants. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, always willing to go the extra mile to be of service - even offering us tea while we waited for our friends to arrive with our rental car. They also offered helpful tips re tourist attractions. Our spacious room was very clean; the bed was super comfortable & the shower excellent. The breakfast buffet was delicious with an extensive variety of good quality foods: croissants, rolls, muffins, fresh fruit, juices, yoghurt, baked beans, bacon, eggs, sausage, cereals etc. We would go back again, and recommend this hotel without any hesitation.
