As a traveller across Australia and South-East Asia, I always enjoy returning to Scotland, to sample again boutique hotels such as the Belhaven. World Class in attending to detail - whether decor or customer comfort - these small establishments celebrate Scottish hospitality at its best. Try the Belhaven - you will not be disappointed with its homely warmth.

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night in a single room. The location of this hotel is great for the west end of Glasgow and very reasonably priced. The guy who checked me in was friendly and gave me the specifics of breakfast etc. My room was in the basement and the stairs leading down to the room were a bit worn with a loose handrail. The room itself was a decent size for a single with an en suite bathroom that smelt faintly of drains. The hotel "bar" was poorly stocked and smelt a bit foisty. The hotel had probably been very grand at some point but did need a decorative upgrade. The bed however was very comfortable.
There was a good choice for breakfast but I found the cooked breakfast to be a touch on the greasy side.
Overall the hotel was average but I probably wouldn't stop here again and the photos on the website are misleading.

spent one night in a single room at the belhaven. 2 young men at check in both very friendly and helpful with directions etc. the room was a nice size for a single with en suite shower and toilet. bathroom very clean and linen etc very clean and fresh. carpets could do with a refresh though. friendly lady at breakfast who took order for full breakfast cooked to order. west end location, within walking distance of tube station and busy byres road pubs etc. £7 taxi ride from central station.

A well-sited hotel, convenient to the University of Glasgow and numerous coffee shops, bars, and restaurants on Byres Road. I stayed in a single room, which in my experience never gives you a wow factor. But it was good value.

I would describe the common rooms as characterful rather than chic, or even shabby chic. (I think the carpet needs replacing.) The breakfast was filling. Staff are friendly. So, overall, a good place to stay in this lovely part of Glasgow.

The Belhaven is clean, comfortable and very good value, with friendly staff. Breakfast is cooked to order, not kept hot and curling at the edges on a buffet. Its situation just off the Great West Road is ideal for the bars and restaurants of the West End and for many of the University departments.
