This is the second time I've stayed at the crowne plaza and although a little way from the centre of Glasgow it's an excellent hotel. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the staff friendly. The restaurant is above average and the bar has a good atmosphere. It's location on the side of the Clyde is a plus if you fancy a walk after dinner! Always a pleasure to stay here.

The location on the waterfront is ideal - great for the SECC, the tall ship and the Science Museum. Easy and pleasant walk into the town centre. Rooms were up to the usual standards. Environment for the breakfast was good and the older staff seemed to be on the ball and keen to make the experience worthy of Crowne Plaza but there were a group of young staff on breakfast who - at the time we were sitting down to eat - clearly needed re-training or sacking. They gathered in groups to gossip whilst there were clearly plenty of jobs to be done.

Room Tip: As high as possible and away from the food preparation areas.

We booked 2 rooms on the 16th floor so we could use the complimentary club lounge on the 15th floor. The rooms were spacious and clean. Good A/C and TV, kettle etc. The bed was huge, only slight downside was that the sheets were a bit polyestery rather than cotton, but if that doesn't bother you then they were very white and fresh looking. Big fluffy white towels, and beautiful bathroom with all the usual bottles of potions. We used the pool for an afternoon swim, which was very pleasant. My son ordered a meal from room service, which he said was tasty. The breakfast was excellent, great choice of every type of sausage, fruits, breads, eggs etc, and the staff were friendly and eager to please. The location was great, with excellent views, we would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: The views are great on either side of the hotel, if you go higher enough. I think the 16th floor is...

My recent stay at the hotel was lovely. I am a platinum member of IHG's rewards scheme and had hoped to get a offered the use of the club lounge, this didn't happen. That was a little disapointing but none the less we still had a good time.
My girlfriend used the spa, she said her massage was the best she had ever had. While she did that i used the gym. The gym was good although a little small. The pool area was very nice apart from the steam room, i felt it needed a good clean. The rest of the area was lovely.
We ate in the restaurant and went for the 2 courses and glass of wine offer. I felt the value for money on this deal was very good.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: The higher the better for some great views of Glasgow

Thank you for taking the time to send us a review. I am very pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay and I would like to assure you that I have taken notes concerning the cleanliness level of the gym and the lack of recognition at check-in. I will mention these points to our respective teams to avoid this happening in the future. I hope to welcome you both back very soon.

Stayed on business for 1 night, hotel had a speedy check in, friendly staff. Stayed on the 11th Floor with a good view over the Bonnie Clyde .
Location is idea for a night out in Glasgow which i always enjoy. Breakfast is good but the only thing is that the resurant is quite small and gets really busy as this hotel seems to have a lot of tourist (By the coach load.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the top of the hotel as the veiws are worth while

We were amazed at the quality of the hotel given our perspective of the location. We know other Crowne Plazas, if you have been to Melbourne Aus - don't get too excited.. However it was great but very mean with the wifi.

Great hotel, taxis outside door and about 6 sterling for two people to most places. If you are staying two days and its for sightseeing then get hop on hop off bus as it stops outside door but last route is at 6 pm. The hotel is a bit out of the city... Too far to walk.... but right on banks of rivet

Breakfast in hotel is one of the best with a wide range of vegetarian options incl. veg haggis .... For the brave!!! It's located right on the auditorium if the SNCC...a large conference centre so it's geared towards business people but we found it a Great base to see Glasgow from. Has fitness centre, gift shop and is great. Aloe for many. We ate in bar and was good and restaurant did deal for two eating at 20 sterling which was excellent,
The only downside is the windows do not open...a feature of so many hotels these days... And it can get v stuffy but air con is good.

Also join the preferred guest with crowne plaza if you travel a lot as there are may perks incl. free wifi, free parking late check out etc and its free to subscribe. Well worth it!

Room Tip: If you are not afraid of heights get a room in Top floors, we had 1022 and views amazing!
