My daughter and i stayed here as we were going to the Pantomime at Glasgow's auditorium, the hotel has a walkway to it so you don't have to enter from the outside which was a blessing as the weather was horrendous that weekend!!
Our room was on the 8th floor which gave us a wonderful view of my city and the twin room we shared was very comfortable.
The only downside was at breakfast, it is a buffet breakfast but it is a large hotel so it can become very congested while you queue for your desired breakfast, i felt that the hot and cold choices should have been seperated and then there wouldn't have been such a backlog of people queueing for different choices, having said that, the choices were excellent both in the hot and cold foods and plenty of it so definitely no complaints there!!
Reception were very friendly, especially Donald who was most helpful, also when we discovered our tv changer wouldn't change channels, dead batteries i assume, reception had someone up to our room in minutes with a new changer, all in all a lovely stay at a hotel that is so handy for the SECC, Auditorium and the new Hydro

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better the view with a choice of a city or river view, also one of the lift...

This is a good modern hotel on the banks of the Clyde. The open plan lobby has a buzz about it. The rooms are spacious and clean. There's even a covered walkway to get you from the car park to the lobby without getting wet. The higher you go the better the views over the Clyde. And take the Panoramic lift if you can. It's worth if for the vista.

Room Tip: Go high for the best views.

I stayed at this hotel with my daughter for an event at the Hydro. We both loved the hotel and the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Even though the hotel was busy with Christmas parties, the service and quality of food were both excellent.

This hotel is so convenient for events at the SECC and Hydro and the car park is a good size so finding a space wasn't a problem.

This is definitely a hotel we will keep coming back to :-)

Stayed there 16/12 excellent location and. Staff excellent only a few cleanliness issues front revolving doors are seriously needing cleaned this was at 12 and the same when we returned at 10. Breakfast was really nice but we were sitting at a table at back wall and that wall was splashed with food which was certainly not just there this was a shame and quite shocking for a 4star hotel

A very good hotel on banks of the river, slightly out of the way as such as far as the town goes, but is opposite both the STV building and BBC Scotland.

The staff are friendly and very welcoming.
For the best rooms go high (if you can bare heights), I had a room on the 12th floor offering excellent views of Scotland. One of the elevators is Panoramic.

There is a nice small hotel shop who can make slightly bespoke gifts if there is a small deviation from what they have on the shelves.

As far as breakfast goes, the buffet style is excellent and well worth it.

Room Tip: Had room 1202, would recommend this, 1201 might be better - rooms on the 13th and 14th floor are rec...

We booked the Crowne Plaza because of its proximity to the new SSE Hydro and it was indeed only a short walk to the venue to see Andre Rieu and the JSO. It transpired that most of the orchestra were also booked into the hotel and we had the pleasure of meeting some of them at breakfast. The breakfast was the best we have ever had in such a large hotel, vast selection and all freshly prepared and piping hot + a full pot of coffee or tea each. Room had everything we needed but I did not like the décor much and it was very warm, perhaps due to an unseasonably mild night for December.

Only slight downside was that while it was confirmed at check in that we had booked bed + breakfast, when we arrived at the restaurant we were told we were not on the list, although after some discussion behind the scenes we were shown to a table. Then when we went to check out we discovered that we had been charged extra for 2x breakfasts. Queried this and again after a consultation it was removed from the bill. Also a little miffed to be charged £6 to park in the hotels car-park, but I understand this is becoming a common practice.

Room Tip: We chose a room on the first floor in case we had to use the stairs, but took a trip up to the top f...

A busy hotel well placed to service all the attractions at this area. Food was well cooked and very efficiently served by caring staff. Rooms smart and clean but the windows could be cleaner on the inside - child's fingerprints - however it helps to disguise the rain.
Car park was handy and easy access.

Room Tip: River view west
