“GreT hotel with the best location in Glasgow”
Reviewed 25 June 2012

I stay at the Carlton regularly as I travel to Glasgow frequently on business. I have stayed in nearly every hotel the city has to offer and this is one of the best. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and have been recently refurbished. The staff are welcoming, very unobtrusive but are there if you need them. The mini-bar is well stocked and free plus complimentary snacks if you need them. Room service has no tray charge and has a great menu. The chef cooks each hot breakfast to order. My only slightly negative comment is to that the breakfast should have more vegetarian options and the bread rolls are not always as fresh as they can be. All in all if you want good location, value for money and a comfortable room then this should be the hotel for you.

Place was very clean and comfortable. The really cool part is the free mini bar...never seen that before. Overall, great service which equals great experience for me and my husband.
One tip I would like to offer, if you're coming in from Glasgow airport take the airport express bus instead of a taxi. It's only 5 pounds, there is a luggage rack, and the ride is about 20 minutes

This is my third or fourth stay at the C-George. The location could not be more convenient for meeting up with family, getting on train or subway, shopping or just taking in the city centre sights. As always, the service was unobtrusive and excellent. My latest trip I was on my own and I felt perfectly safe and looked after. This was a quick pop over weekend from Canada for a family party and the fact that I could count on a good stay at the C-George made my decision to come that much easier. You can't go wrong with this hotel.

We arrived at 12.30 and our room was ready. It was exactly as I'd expected from the reviews on TA and from the hotel website. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, as well as good at their jobs. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the hotel to anyone. It wasn't cheap but it was superb value, the breakfast being especially good in the lovely 7th floor restaurant.

Chose this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews, and glad we did. Very quiet and comfortable room with a small fridge. Great location steps from the station and close to tourist sites. As we were there on the weekend a great breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was included. The only drawback is if you have a vehicle the parking is in the mall lot a block behind the hotel and it is a bit of a journey, so drop your bags at the hotel first, but you do get a reduced parking rate of 10GBP/day. The staff were very friendly and we will stay here again when in Glasgow.

My husband & I really enjoyed the comforts of this hotel along with its ideal central location. We took the bus from the airport and it stopped near the hotel. Also, it is near the train station to take day trips to Sterling or longer trips on ScotRail. The Executive Lounge is the best deal with evening cocktails (wine, liquor, etc.) and good choice for breakfast. The rooms are comfortable & clean with good lighting. Well worth the stay and would return when in Glasgow.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the street are quieter.

We have just returned from The Carlton George, Glasgow. It was everything the advert says, well worth staying. Executive lounge well, worth the extra, we did a weekender package and ate at the restaurant on the Sunday night. Dinner was ok, staff really friendly and wine flowed in plenty in the executive lounge. Lovely coffee for through the day in the lounge. Beds really comfy and room large enough and clean. We will definitely stay again next time we visit Glasgow.

Room Tip: Upgrade to include the executive lounge, spacious and well worth the extra
