This was Glagow's former Dept of Education and it still bears the marks of municipality. Its a fun building, with some interesting details, like the hand made white tiles on the walls and the wonderful old lift. The staff are friendly and comptetent and Abode is well placed. It's rooms are reasonably priced for the location, they have been well converted and imaginatively done. But sme are begint o fray a little round the edges and I would avoid Rooms 113 and 114 as the kitchen fans are right outside the windows which look onto a dull interior space.
The ground floor restaurant is amazing and although its pricy for Glasgow, its worth every penny. The food was some of the best I've had this year and deserves to be savoured. Its also nicely done, the service was knowledgeable and cheerful without being overbearing or self conscious, and even better, there was no muzak at all, YEAH! . If you want something cheaper and noisier then theres another restaurant in the basement which serves reasonable food. Have fun
