Stayed here last year on business and decided to stay again, as I knew they had a good car park and that it served good breakfasts and was pretty convenient regarding location.
Everything as good as before. Parking is £8 per 24 hours, which I am happy to pay as other places are more expensive or not so secure.
As this was a leisure trip, we found the open top tourist bus stops just over the road. We paid £10 each for 2 days hopping on and off the bus as it wended its way around the City. This was an absolute bargain, as it saved me driving and trying to park all the time. It visits the Botanical Gardens (amazing), the Cathedral, Necropilis (amazing views over the City), Kelvingrove Museum (fabulous with 1pm organ recitals - lovely atmosphere), Peoples Palace and many other places.
Did not eat in the hotel apart from Breakfast and room service one evening - both good, but can recommend the Bombay Blue round the corner in Hope Street, which does a reasonably priced buffet or a la carte. If you fancy splashing out, try Brian Maule at Chardon d'or or One Devonshire Gardens, both of which were excellent. The cafe at the Kelvingrove Museum does a nice lunch and also has an excellent shop.
All in all, a great experience.More
