“Enjoyable stay”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

Chose this hotel of its proximity to Secc, we were attending the Good Food Show. Also as a marriott rewards member I qualified for weekend special offer, which was great value. Rooms were spacious very clean an well appointed. For a hotel that is extremely close to a major motorway a good job has been done in soundproofing, we hardly noticed it. The lounge and bar areas were very comfortable and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Dinner on the first night and breakfast on both days were included. The quality of all the food served was excellent. Staff were brilliant. All in all couldn't fault much. We will definitely return to this hotel again- soon!

Got a good rate for this standard of city center hotel. Room good size and very appointed and comfortable. Did not eat in until breakfast which was as you expect in a chain of this type but quite acceptable.

Staff very polite and informative. One niggle - parking charge is an add on to the room rate. Never had this before and it should either be included or made aware of at time of booking.

Room Tip: get a room on a higher floor to get some kind of outlook as surroundings are drab

Located center of the city which is very easy access for shopping malls and the hotels. 15min drive from airport.Checkin staffs are fast and helpful attitude to explain the side seen and the shopping areas. Free internet was provided. Rooms are tidy and clean. Good room set upand many tv channel’s were available. The lounge was very good, good red wines were served even the breakfast was good standard. Hotel may work on the bed comfort , Over all, wonderful stay

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our CIE tour of Scotland. We arrived very early in the morning and were very happy that a room was ready for us, even if it was a tiny, handicap accessible room with one double bed (yes, DOUBLE) and a great view of the service entrance and dumpsters. The room was very clean, but noisy due to the dumpsters and the conference rooms that were located all around our room. But that's why we always bring earplugs when we travel. Nice tea setup with little cookies, plus wine glasses and a corkscrew ( but no wine that we could find :) ) The breakfast was fantastic. That evening we realized our TV didn't work, so we mentioned it at reception when we were coming back from dinner. They said they'd send a maintenance guy up, and we literally had just got back to our room when he arrived! Very impressed with that.
So here's our one big complaint with this hotel - no free in room WiFi. Charge was 15 pounds PER DAY, which is about $25 US. In this day and age, that is just ridiculous. We spent two weeks traveling in Scotland and Ireland and it was free everywhere else, even at the airport and on the ferry. But we could go to the hotel lobby and get it free. We ended up having a nice drink in the bar while using the internet.

Room Tip: Avoid First Floor - conference rooms are located on this floor

Number 1 priority of a hotel has to be a good night sleep - the bed I was given was very uncomfortable - the top of the bed was changed as they had no alternative rooms but that did not change how uncomfortable the bed was - I will avoid the Marriot in Glasgow on my future visits.

This was our first hotel in Scotland, after many days of touring in Ireland. The loby was very welcoming and our room very nice and comfortable. We traveled with two other couples and were in a day before starting a CIE tour of Scotland and England. We all needed to do laundry! We wanted to do our own laundry ourselves so we gathered in the lobby to check our options. This is when we first met Bob the concierge. He was a lifesaver! He gave us information regarding a local launderette, pubs in the area and showed us tbe nearest ATM location. So we loaded up our suitcases with our dirty laundry and Bob helped us get a cab. What fun! Part of us manned the machine with the help of a very nice woman who ran the launderette and the others walked to a local coffee shop..they brought us some coffee and tea..great fun in Glasgow. That evening we needed dinner and wanted to walk around a bit. Again, Bob to the rescue! We were directed to a fantastic Italian resaurant! We had a great Italian meal in the heart of Glasgow!
The Marriott also has a beauitful gift shop. It's small but packed witn lovely items. I found the perfect dress for my granddaughter! The food in the lounge was excellent and we all enjoyed a nice lunch. Our breakfasts both mornings were first class!
All in all we enjoyed our two nights at this hotel. It gave us an excellent first impression of Scotland!
