“Dissappointed”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

I stayed at the marriott after staying in an excellant hotel the night before near Glasgow Airport. The Marriott is a famous sight in glasgow but I was dissappointed with it, check i was fine if not abrupt, room 914 was quite cramped feeling, the shower wasn't very good, the shower curtain rail was hanging off the wall a bit, we did however get a late check out when asked for and reception in general was fine, the entrance is impressive but the bar closes at 12.00am, which for a 4 star I found unusual not to have the night porter serve. I travel to glasgow every week and have to admit I will use the hotel at Glasgow Airport over the Marriott.

Stayed in this hotel for 4 nights the week before Christmas. It offers good value, with well appointed rooms which are larger than many in a comparable price range and location.
The bed was very comfortable and rooms very quiet - it was the nights of the storms and I heard nothing even being several floors up. Room service ok, portions were a little small though and tray charge of £3.50 a bit steep.
Breakfast - standard hot food selection with the troublesome rotating toast machine (in 4 days I never had any success in getting the perfect round - even the staff admitted they were troublesome)
Hotel was clean and the staff very helpful.

Room Tip: Friend had a room next to the lift shafts - were busy and could be heard through the walls - so ensu...

We stayed at the Marriott in Glasgow from 13th December to 15th December 2013. This was our third stay in this first class hotel. The food was again delicious, the staff friendly and helpful, and our room was warm and clean. Another excellent visit.

Wonderful hotel not too far away from the city centre lovely peaceful hotel, great rooms and lovely leisurely breakfast on a Sunday morning.
Not the usual banging of doors through the night, we had a great nights sleep, lovely weekend highly recommend

Room Tip: we saw no problems in any part of the hotel

I stayed in the Marriott on business and it was completely fit for purpose.

The staff were pleasant and helpful when checking in, I stayed in a standard room with King size bed. The bedding was really comfotable although the mattress could have been slightly better.

The room is of a high standard and I particularly liked the complimentary IRN BRU and Tunnocks Caramel wafer for a nice Scottish touch. The bathroom was kitted out well and has complimentary soaps and shampoo that you would actually WANT to use, as opposed to the cheap ones you have to put up with when travelling. The room included an ironing board and an iron thay actually worked well! (a rarity when hotel hopping).

The only complaint I would have is the fairly extortionate prices for wifi, there is no free wifi to speak of, not even a free hour or so, which makes a difference if you need to work etc.

There is a Gym and spa onsite for hotel guests which is really useful and well equipped. I can't comment on the meals as I did not eat in the hotel during my stay.

Apart from the Wifi, Overall the Marriott is a pleasant stay and I'd definitely stay there again.

We stopped for 3 nights at this hotel over a weekend and were more than happy with its location for access to Glasgow city centre.
A 10 minute walk and you are in the heart of the shopping area around Argyle Street, Buchanan Street and St Enochs Square.
Staff were polite and helpful. If you go hungry at breakfast time then you only have yourself to blame.
Room was a superior one on the 6th floor and even though the M8 motorway is only a stones throw away we were not disturbed by noise.
However, having paid £400 for a 3 night break, being asked to pay £15 for 24 hours internet access is outrageous as is the cost of drinks in the hotel bar--- A large Vodka and Diet Coke with a pint of Guinness cost £13.85p---- way over the odds considering a similar order in a renowned city centre pub, The Horseshoe in Drury Street was only £6.64p.
Come on Marriott, stop penalising people with OTT prices for Internet and drinks!!!

This is a lovely hotel, the room was spotlessly clean, everything was perfect. Although our room looked over the motorway there was absolute no traffic noise - unless we opened the window! The view from the 10th floor was lovely!
The beds (2 doubles in a twin room!) were really comfortable, and the bathroom was roomy, clean and bright. There was also ample storage for 2 people.
We were there for a Christmas party night and the food was very nice; only down side was the house wine, I've tasted better.
Breakfast in the morning - served till 12 - was delicious and of course there was plenty of it.
An added bonus in my opinion was the 2 o'clock check-in and 12 noon check-out, quite unusual in my experience.
I would definitely recommend the Marriott, I'd I'd be more than happy to go back any time.
