Not my usual choice when in Glasgow but gave it a try, not bad at all
Room good whilst a bit small, breakfast fine
£15 for wifi and also parking charge doesn't encourage me to go back
Usually use IHG brand , would say they are a better bet when you visit Glasgow, especially for shopping options

We had a break in for two nights and stayed at the Marriott.Check in very efficient and friendly. We had booked and executive deluxe room. The room had a king size bed and an area we could sit. The toilet area had a shower over the bath which i always feel for older people would be a problem. There were robes and good quality toiletries.Breakfast was until 12 o clock which is excellent when you are out until the wee hours of the morning. The hotel was very busy as there was a big football match on that weekend. There was a bit of noise but people are happy when there team win.The staff were very nice and helpful could have had more staff serving in the bar area. The hotel doesn't sit in the best part of Glasgow but certainly not the worst. The main complaint is not about the hotel but the Glasgow taxis, when we arrived at the railway station and got in cab and asked for the Marriott the answer was you could walk. This is not a good advert for the up in coming Commonwealth games. This was not a one off as this was the answer we had when we asked the cab driver outside the Marriottt take us back to the station.

This was a nice place to stay but spoiled by the vegetarian sausages. You have to order them especially at breakfast and then hide them in your napkin.

The pool was ok but I got told off for pressing the alarm in the sauna when I genuinely thought it was the "Hot" button. That aside, we managed to complete our Dirty Dancing routine in the water without injuring ourselves.

Some people came down in dressing gowns to read the Sunday papers on the loungers but we don't know why because it wasn't sunny.

In the lift we saw some famous people.

Excellent value seeing as we stayed for free because someone else let us have their booking. Sometimes the world warms your heart like that.

The hotel is clean and well set out, staff, staff are courteous and helpful and the room was well maintained, a good size and had comfortable beds. The gym had a good range of machines and the swimming pool was great too. All good, you can tell it's a chain but that's what you expect from an international brand.

From the time The Wife and I arrived at the Marriott every thing went so well. The staff at the front desk got us upgraded to Executive as it was my 70th birthday. The room was great. We were on the meal deal. Dinner was great ,great staff .great food.Nicola our server was fantastic I asked if I could have my dessert with out ice cream she said no problem. The breakfast in the morning was also well prepared and plenty of it.One of the staff who stands out is Lazarus the smile never leaves his face if you ask him for somthing he will find it for you.

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the river

Booked night stay for my sisters 40th anniversary party which was in Glasgow..We arrived with my sister and husband to book in and staff asked if we required dinner for that night, we told them it was their 40th anniversary and we had venue booked for dinner. We had two rooms next door to each other. The reception staff were very good. When we arrived back at hotel that night in their room was a card from staff and hotel and two individuals bottles of champagne a nice touch,
Everything was first class. Breakfast was very good. Will be back.

Room Tip: We. Had kingsize room. Bed very comfortable
