“Great Break”
Reviewed 15 May 2012

Found this hotel to be excellent. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Food was superb and reasonably priced. Had a great night's sleep. Well done. Superb stay will be back.

Room Tip: Read the instruction sheet for the heating/air conditioning system, it's on the table.

never stayed in a premier inn before and hadn't planned to this time but last minute problems meant I had to find somewhere fast. Services provided were what you would expect but it had less of a tired feel about it than others of this type of budget hotel can have. However the one thing that I really noticed was the friendliness of all the staff and I don't mean that forced smile stand-offish type friendliness, in fact the only reason I have bothered to come and write this is because it was so refreshing to see.
If arriving knackered at a hotel only to be greeted by a grunt and perfunctory faux-politeness really hacks you off then you will enjoy the difference this makes here.

Room Tip: the double glazing is excellent so from a noise point of view any room would do I guess, Apart from...

Stayed here for just a night. The room was good, it was clean, there was enough space and the bathroom was efficiently. An ok size for a city hotel. Within a 5 minute walk you will be in the centre of the city. Parking (Q-park) was just 2 blocks away for only 6 pounds per 24 hours if you buy your ticket at the hotel. Staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful, but the boys serving breakfast on Sunday morning weren't very hospitable. Breakfast was served untill 11.30 (which we thought was great after a night out) but after 10.30 am they wouldn't add any extras to the breakfast like croissants which was a shame. However, regarding price vs quality we would come here again if we visit Glasgow.

Great hotel, no frills, ideal for somewhere to get your head down in a really comfortable, king size bed. Location great for railway stations and city centre. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful.

I was looking for a budget hotel in which to base ourselves for the Glasgow 7's weekend and the Premier Inn on Argyle Street was perfect for this. We arrived by train a little earlier than check-in time but the helpful lady on reception allowed us to go straight to our room.

The room was fresh, clean and a reasonable size. King Size bed was an unexpected bonus. I did not have a problem with noise from the street below (we were on the 6th floor) although the beeping of the lift down the hall did start to grate on me after a while. No big deal though.

I am unable to comment on the dinner in the restaurant (we ate out) but the breakfast was really good and the Costa Coffee by reception is useful for getting a cup of coffee to take away with you.

I was impressed with the staff at the hotel - they are genuinely friendly and eager to sort out any blips that you may encounter. It is in a great location, less than 10 minutes from Central Station, so I would recommend if you can get an advanced room rate.

First visit to Premier Inn Argle St with friends, allocated rooms 701A & 701B (recently converted from 7th floor office). Rooms much smaller than nomal Premier Inn & not to same standard having only standard double bed. Room was cold & subject to external traffic/street noise that went on all night. Our friends complained & moved from room 701A to 703 (which was the usual high standard) @ around 2am as they could no longer put up with the noise. Both these rooms should only be offered @ budget rate. Staff were very polite & helpfull throughout our stay & honoured the Premier Inn good sleep guarantee with no quibble. Although rooms proved dissapointing on this visit it certainly will not put us off using Premier Inn again.

Room Tip: 7th floor back rooms NOT 701A & B

Travelling for business, on a budget, it is hard to see why anyone would not stay in a Premier Inn if available. Staff at Argyll Street were exemplary - as in every Premier Inn.

Location perfect with a great Italian Restaurant across the road if required.
