“Nice big city hotel, friendly staff”
Reviewed 16 May 2014

This is a hotel from the Premier Inn chain. You cannot really go wrong with this type of hotel as they maintain the same standard throughout. Same design, same colours. This hotel is a little bit worn though.

The hotel is in the centre of town close to the railway station

Staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was nice and comfortable with a big bed, desk, coffee/tea making facilities and a small flat screen TV.

Wi-Fi internet is free for the first 30 minutes, a 24 hour pass costs £ 3,- Never understood why Wi-Fi internet in this type of hotel is not free.

Sometimes there was some noise in my room of which I could not trace the origin. Maybe it came from water pipes or an elevator.

The breakfast buffet was excellent with good choices and served in a spacious breakfast room.

Have stayed a few times here but last week was a disgrace!
After checking in, it took four different attempts to get a room card to work in the lifts,
Then went for a meal in the restaurant. There were five other tables in use, with a mix of singles and couples and the one next to me ordered a starter at the same time I ordered my gammon. Well their starters came and went and so did their main before my gammon made an appearance. I ordered a desert, and this too was about 25 minutes to come. When each meal came the waitress did say "sorry for the wait" but that was it.
Night 2 went in at 6.45 to be told we have just had a table of 15 arrive so you will have to wait at least half an hour to be let in. Turned straight round and walked out. Complained at reception and was told, well what can we do to help with this, its busy.
Did have three more week long trips booked, but will be moving to George's square where they treat you with respect!!

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at our hotel. It really matters to us that our guests enjoy every aspect of their stay and this is important with yourself being regular user of our hotel.

Please accept my apologies for the disappointment caused with the service you received in the restaurant. I can assure you this is not the service level that you would normally receive at the hotel and retraining has been fully completed to ensure this incident does not occur again in the future.

Im sorry that you couldnt dine with us on the 2nd night of your stay. As you have stated the restaurant was busy and we advise guests to pre book a dinner reservation to avoid disappointment, however we always strive to do our best and accomodate our guests.

Your comments regarding this have been duly noted and will be followed up with the Management Team at the hotel. Your feedback is very much appreciated

This Premier Inn had everything we needed for our stay in Glasgow. It was perfectly situated for the train station and a leisurely walk to our destination in the evening. As well as the shops. I particularly enjoyed sleeping in the most comfortable of beds, I've ever slept in. I would definitely book the same hotel again for my next visit to Glasgow.

Excellent budget hotel if you are going to the Hydro or shopping in the city centre as they are both a short distance from the hotel. Good value for the car park, although it is not attached to the hotel so make sure you get the directions for that. Don't be alarmed though it is only a 30 second walk to the front door! Premier inn breakfast amazing as usual. Great stay.

During our stay from 11/4/14 to 14/4/14 we found premier inn argyle street to be very clean, comfortable and convenient. The only disappointment was that whether you got a full scottish breakfast or continental or just toast and tea the charge was the same £8.95 which was not specified to us. This is the equivalent to 12 euro which is way too much for tea and toast at any standard.
