“Basic Hotel - Adequate Location”
Reviewed 12 February 2011

This is a very basic hotel in an adequate Glasgow location. You can walk from the hotel to almost anywhere in the city of Glasgow.

The rooms are very basic and tiny. It is just a bed, a tiny bathroom and a jug. The TV is minuscule. There is a wireless internet service available for a reasonable fee. Hotel staff are helpful and can assist in getting your laundry organised for a very inexpensive fee.

Luxury is not there to be found, and the public areas are a bit grotty. A typical hotel for travelling salesmen or lower middle managers. Not suitable for corporate life or executive travelers.

If you are just passing through with a family it is a viable option in Glasgow as long as your demands are consistent with what is on offer at this property. It does match the price we paid so there are no complaints on our part.

I recently stayed on the £29 advance purchase offer and cannot fault the hotel for the money I paid.
Both check in and check out were smooth and efficient and the receptionist on both occasions was helpful and polite.
Really enjoyed the fact that parking with Q Park is free.
Would use again.

I spent time at the George Square Premier Inn, and at the Argyle Street location. The George Square location offered a noticeably larger room but otherwise the two hotels were comparable. This room was very clean, recently renovated, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is a Costa cafe in the hotel lobby. Very near the Glasgow Central Station. Very short walk to the shopping district in Glasgow (Buchanan Street & Argyle Street), no more than 5 minutes. A lot of restaurants are around as well. There is a taxi queue just across the road from the hotel, which is convenient. ATMs are around too.

£29 21-day advanced booking rate felt like a steal. If I was staying in Glasgow for an extended period of time I'd split the time between Premier Inn's Argyle Street location and the George Square location. It's hard (impossible?) to beat this quality and value for £29.

My partner and i stayed in the premier inn for a night away and we loved it!It is so central and you get 24hour car parking with the price of the hotel! The room was spotless and the bed was huge! All of the staff are very helpful and you can get breakfast the next day for £7.99 all you can eat which was delicious! Dont hesitate just book! They offer a good nights sleep guarunteed so even if u have a bad night(which i doubt!)you can get your money back no other hotel offers that!!

Arrived at lunchtime and was staying for 1 night, the staff couldnt do enough for you at reception and when we got into the room it was spotless. They provided an extra heater as the weather was bitterly cold. The bed was very warm and very comfy, and the next morning the breakfast was as equally as good. The food was very fresh with the chef regularly checking all was well. If you wanted an egg, you had to order it, but in my opinion this was great as it was piping hot. For £40 including a breakfast, this was the best priced hotel i have stayed in.

stayed here for 2 nights. friendly & helpful staff but room a bit pokey and quite cold. Supplementary heating was already provided in the room although there is no bathroom heating so you have to leave the door open if you want any warmth in there- not really ideal! Also wouldnt want to stay here in warm weather as no air conditioning. The restaurant food was very nice and a reasonable price and all the staff we met were very friendly. I would tentatively recommend this hotel on the basis that you should be aware of the temperature issues you may encounter.

Found myself stranded in Glasgow by the sudden severe weather. The travel company paid to put me up here.

Despite the sudden influx of extra guests (because of the weather) and the lack of a full compliment of staff (because of the weather!) on what would normally be a quiet night, the staff were helpful & courteous and managed to provide a full level of service.

Room was everything you could expect ... clean & comfortable and - thankfully - nice and warm.

Restaurant, food and bar food were top notch - especially considering how understaffed they were.

Well done Premier Inn. Made my not entirely welcome stay in Glasgow a pleasure.
